This role will own the development of a corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and security program. This will support the Chewy corporate offices, Customer Service (CS) centers, and Studios (in-studio and on location). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining multiple programs, owning regulatory compliance, improving the model and pet parent experience, and collaborating with partners to continuously improve workplace safety and security. This role will support multiple locations across the U.S. with special focus on Studio EHS program development. This role requires an experienced EHS and security leader who can develop programs, lead people, understand multiple levels of regulations, and work in a fast pace dynamic environment.

Chewy is seeking a Sr. Program Manager, Corporate EHS and Asset Protection to support the Chewy Asset Protection team. This role will own the development of a corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and security program. This will support the Chewy corporate offices, Customer Service (CS) centers, and Studios (in-studio and on location). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining multiple programs, owning regulatory compliance, improving the model and pet parent experience, and collaborating with partners to continuously improve workplace safety and security. This role will support multiple locations across the U.S. with special focus on Studio EHS program development. This role requires an experienced EHS and security leader who can develop programs, lead people, understand multiple levels of regulations, and work in a fast pace dynamic environment.
What you'll do:
- Develop and be responsible for the Chewy Corporate EHS and Security programs and policies in partnership with legal, EHS, real estate, and HR. This includes training, annual drills, compliance documentation, and physical security.
- Partner with corporate real estate and studio teams to ensure a safe and secure workplace including for inside studio and production on location.
- Conduct audits on a regular cadence, driving compliance, and ensuring all local/state/federal regulations are met.
- Provide pet model and pet parent specific guidelines and SOPs around pet drop-off, interactions, medical treatment and more.
- Create, in partnership with legal and risk, guidelines and documentation for staffing agency employees, models, pet models, and independent contractors.
- Create process for security and safety/medical support for studio teams in studio and on location in partnership with risk and legal to drive compliance needs.
- Partner with the Real Estate and Facilities teams to ensure compliance of safety and security requirements for all corporate spaces.
- Lead third-party relationships with vendors including the security guards.
- Develop and deliver on business objectives, KPIs, and team goals to drive protective services and improve the program as it scales.
- Report into the Associate Director, Safety & Loss Prevention coordinating with legal, risk, HR, and executive leadership.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in related field (EHS, Criminal Justice, Environmental Science) or equivalent work experience or military service.
- 8+ years of EHS, industrial safety, studio/theater/production safety or security experience.
- Medical certifications including First Aid CPR/AED, Emergency Medical Technician, or Tactical Casualty Combative Care.
- Ability to work with a team, partner with third-party VPs driving quality of professional service, and analyze data required.
- Ability to use technology and database to analyze threats, intelligence, local crime statics, and provide daily/weekly operations briefings.
- Ability to build programs, policies, and implement procedures for health, safety, and security.
- Ability to partner with learning teams to create trainings for required compliance.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, being able to communication across internal partners and with executive leadership.
- Highly collaborative teammate who can build positive relationships with internal and external partners including third-party vendors.
- Capable of delivering high quality work and data driven initiatives on time with the ability to lead multiple different projects or programs simultaneously.
- Ability to be flexible, work through ambiguity, succeed in a fast-paced environment while having the foresight to build mechanisms and develop strategies. Willing to learn new skills and implement new technologies.
- Must be willing to travel up to 30%.
