Job summary

The Product Marketing Lead sits at the center of Product and Marketing and works daily across product, marketing, sales and customer success. You will define the language, positioning, and content the market acts on: How we describe what we do, why the market should want it, how customers understand what they're buying, and how the category gets defined before a competitor defines it first.

Reporting to the VP Marketing, you own positioning, messaging, launches, competitive intelligence, and sales enablement. In practice, you operate like a product manager for go-to-market — instead of owning the build, you own how the product is positioned, sold, and talked about at every stage from launch through renewal. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role where you will have the opportunity to help define how brightfin takes products to market and help build the product marketing function from the ground up.

Essential functions

Positioning and messaging

  • Own brightfin's core positioning and messaging across TEM, ITFM, FinOps, and AI spend management, translating the category story into messaging frameworks sales, marketing, and leadership can use verbatim — consistent across every external surface.
  • Write and oversee the internal and external-facing content that carries that positioning into market — advertising copy, website messaging, social media, bylines, webinars, executive talking points, and other content — as an expert writer, not just the strategist.
  • Partner with the Product team on pricing, packaging, and feature narrative, so go-to-market structure and product capability move together, not on separate timelines.

Product launches

  • Own the go-to-market plan for new product capability — messaging, sales enablement, customer communication, and launch content — and run retrospectives to adjust the playbook based on what actually moved pipeline or adoption.

 Competitive intelligence

  • Build and maintain brightfin's competitive positioning, with particular focus on displacing other competitors in the market, and equip sales and leadership with training presentations, playbooks, battlecards, objection handling, and win/loss insight drawn directly from the field.

Sales enablement

  • Create and maintain the pitch decks, one-pagers, ROI narratives, demo storylines, and customer proof points — case studies, testimonials, and reference customers that Sales deploys at every stage of the funnel.
  • Train sales and customer-facing teams on new positioning and messaging as it evolves.

 Analyst and category support

  • Partner with the Analyst Relations Manager to align the category narrative shown to Gartner, Forrester, and IDC with what the market sees everywhere else, contributing proof points, customer outcomes, and product depth to every evaluation and briefing.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5–8 years in product marketing at an enterprise B2B SaaS company, with direct ownership of positioning, messaging, and launches.
  • Experience marketing to enterprise CIO or IT finance buyers, or a comparably complex, multi-stakeholder buying committee.
  • Track record of building sales enablement content that sales teams actually use in the field.
  • Comfortable operating without an established playbook — this function is being built, not maintained.
  • Experience with HubSpot, advanced workflows, and campaign automation.

Skills and competencies

  • Sharp, clear across written and visual formats — from advertising copy and social posts to executive one-pagers — someone who can turn complex product capability into language a CIO or IT finance leader trusts.
  • Strong cross-functional operator — equally credible with engineering, sales, and executive leadership.
  • Data-informed: ties messaging and launch decisions to pipeline, win rate, and adoption outcomes, not instinct alone.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • brightfin offers a comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits package.
  • Paid time off. We strongly believe in work-life balance and taking time for yourself.
  • 401K with employer match
  • Compensation Range: $140,000 - $155,000

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Location: Remote, US
