The Senior Product Manager will oversee mortgage product workflows, manage backlogs, advocate for user needs, and lead agile processes.
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager with hands-on experience in mortgage originations or lending and a deep understanding of the tools and processes involved in lead management and loan preparation for underwriting. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the end-to-end mortgage application process, including disclosure packages, and the verification of income, identity, assets, and credit, along with familiarity with automated underwriting systems.
Requirements
- Desirable experience in mortgage workflows, specifically borrower verification and qualification.
- Advanced English proficiency
- Strong understanding of the product development life cycle (PDLC) and business analysis methodologies
- Experience with workflow diagrams, wireframes, and prototyping tools such as Visio and Figma
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated leadership and the ability to influence and build relationships across all organizational levels
- Ability to make informed decisions balancing technical feasibility with business value
- Results-driven mindset with the ability to define and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of product goals and experience driving performance metrics such as lead generation and conversion
- Solid grasp of relevant technologies and cloud-based systems
- Previous experience in software development
- Excellent organizational, research, and problem-solving skills
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
Responsibilities
- Define and document user personas and use cases for Mortgage Loan Originators, Loan Processors, and Underwriters
- Develop complete, clear, and detailed user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development and QA teams
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog effectively
- Participate in and lead agile ceremonies such as grooming sessions and sprint planning
- Collaborate with development and architecture teams to remove obstacles and align technical implementation with product goals
- Contribute to backlog grooming, including estimating story points and identifying dependencies
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure clarity of business needs and product vision
- Advocate for the needs of users and functional partners across the product lifecycle
- Facilitate continuous feedback loops through requirement gathering, validation, and iterative improvements
