It takes powerful technology to connect our brands and partners with an audience of hundreds of millions of people. Whether you’re looking to write mobile app code, engineer the servers behind our massive ad tech stacks, or develop algorithms to help us process trillions of data points a day, what you do here will have a huge impact on our business—and the world.

A Little About Us

At Yahoo, we operate thousands of services at global scale, reaching hundreds of millions of people around the world. Our internal developer platform powers these services and lets our developers build rapidly, securely, and with high quality. We are shifting from traditional infrastructure to an AI-augmented ecosystem where speed and reliability are driven by intelligent automation.

A Lot About You

We are looking for a technically-sophisticated Sr. Product Manager (IC4) who views platforms as a lever for company-wide velocity. You have a deep commitment to developer experience and a track record of translating complex technical challenges into elegant, scalable solutions. You don't just follow a roadmap; you proactively identify how emerging technologies—specifically AI—can be used to reduce cognitive load for thousands of engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product strategy for critical platform pillars, including Cloud Runtime (K8s), Security, and Messaging, ensuring alignment with Yahoo’s broader engineering goals.

  • Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies in day-to-day work, replacing manual feedback analysis and documentation tasks with AI-assisted workflows.

  • Deliver innovative platform solutions that reduce cognitive load, optimize costs, and improve the reliability of engineering systems at scale.

  • Utilize generative AI tools to synthesize insights from customer feedback (surveys, interviews, analytics) to accelerate the definition of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader, evangelizing the platform's value and future roadmap to stakeholders.

  • Define and execute an AI-first product roadmap, ensuring models and autonomous agents are integrated to optimize platform performance and self-healing capabilities.

  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, and procurement to balance trade-offs between cost, technical feasibility, and speed to market.

  • Exercise judgment in when to rely on AI-augmented oversight versus manual validation for critical system changes.

  • Execute on internal go-to-market strategies to drive adoption and close the loop with our developer community.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent technical experience (Requirement for candidate background check).

  • 4+ years of experience in product management, specifically within cloud infrastructure, developer tools, or distributed systems.

  • 7+ years of total industry experience in software services.

  • Proven ability to use AI productivity tools (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot) to accelerate product discovery, documentation, and technical analysis.

  • Demonstrated technical depth in cloud services (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and modern architectural patterns.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to disambiguate complex problems for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with prompt engineering or structured interaction with AI models to assist in data analysis or system diagnostics.

  • Direct experience with security platforms or database-as-a-service (DBaaS) offerings.

  • Prior experience as a software engineer or architect, with a focus on building tools for other developers.

  • Interest in staying current on emerging AI tools and proactively suggesting improvements to internal platform workflows.
