We’re seeking a Sr. Product Manager (Contract) to provide coverage through the end of the year on high-visibility Ads & Connects initiatives. You’ll drive strategy and execution for two critical ad products — Boosted Profiles (talent-side) and Featured Job Post (client-side). This role sits within Upwork’s Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team, a global group of professionals supporting our business.

You’ll partner with senior leaders to shape marketplace design, launch experiments, and deliver measurable results that directly impact revenue and growth. This is an opportunity to influence core monetization levers in Upwork’s two-sided marketplace while working cross-functionally with analytics, design, economics, pricing, FP&A, and marketing.

Responsibilities
  • Drive marketplace design initiatives tied to Ads & Connects in partnership with Growth & Monetization leadership.
  • Define, prioritize, and deliver roadmap enhancements with cross-functional partners.
  • Design, run, and evaluate experiments; translate insights into strategic product decisions.
  • Track and interpret key metrics, ensuring revenue-impacting initiatives are aligned and on schedule.
  • Simplify complex product challenges using first-principles thinking, data analysis, and informed intuition.
  • Ensure cross-team alignment and timely delivery of milestones, keeping stakeholders engaged and accountable.
What it takes to catch our eye
  • 5+ years as a Product Manager in high-growth or fast-paced environments.
  • Proven record of building and executing product roadmaps with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, including SQL/Snowflake, Looker, and defining input/guardrail metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills with overlap in U.S. business hours (East Coast minimum).
  • A bias for action with the ability to bring clarity amid ambiguity.
  • Bonus: Experience with ad products, two-sided marketplaces, or funnel optimization; hands-on Upwork experience as freelancer or client.
Come change how the world works.
