DIRECTV is looking for a Senior Product Development Manager to develop and maintain solutions for industry-leading advertising products. The Senior Manager will lead the technical product solutions and strategy of DIRECTV core advertisement initiatives. The ideal candidate will be onboarding DAI networks while maintaining industry’s leading quality of service.

Here's what you’ll do:

  • Onboard DAI (Digital Advertising Insertion) on National networks, inclusive of MLB and DAI on RSN.
  • Expand DAI certification for FAST Programmer enablement use cases.
  • Partner with Ads architecture, engineering teams to recommend the most appropriate solutions for advertisers and users in Digital advertisement.
  • Participate in architectural reviews and provide valuable feedback to enable rapid delivery and solutioning.
  • Demonstrate strong technical product management, automation, development, and deployment background.
  • Manage work efforts of development and test engineers for multiple projects inclusive of Quality-of-service initiatives.
  • Provide leadership in product design with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Manage resources and policy formation in assigned responsibilities.
  • Accelerate product enablement, manage monitoring tools, and resolve advertisement issues by partnering with cross functional teams.
  • Improve operational efficiency by automated workflows for DAI enablement at scale with proven technical expertise to integrate with existing video infrastructure there by, reducing manual effort and improving speed to market.
  • Achieve cross-platform consistency by ensuring dynamic ads are uniform across devices — desktops, mobiles, and smart TVs — facilitating high-quality ad insertion and improved monetization.
  • Maintain technological competitiveness and adoption of industry standards with the latest advancements in DAI technology.
  • Build and enhance systems for scalable ad insertion across diverse content, viewer types, and ad formats, ensuring performance while supporting growth.
  • Innovate with precision, helping AML expand product offerings.

50% - Drive, manage product enablement and QOS inclusive of MLB, National onboarding, DAI on RSN

  • Manage and lead team members for onboarding Digital Advertising Insertion onto new networks/providers for Live, VOD and advertisement formats.
  • Understand business specifications and verify ad specifications delivered by Content Providers. 
  • Understand current ad technologies, requirements in the Ad industry and recommend changes that will benefit the organization.
  • Work with outside 3rd party vendors, cross functional teams, content providers, measurement vendors to ensure quality advertising plays out across digital products.
  • Coordinate across multiple departments and scrum teams to integrate new advertising solutions, including but not limited to client development teams, system architects, audio-video pipeline engineers, and video operations.

35% - Manage certification, verification of product features

  • Manage certification of complex Ad delivery and Ad insertion systems, using technologies such as VAST, VMAP, SCTE-104, SCTE-35 and other ad-related standards across different Web/Mobile/OTT clients.
  • Lead certification of various ad decisioning and routing systems, such as DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP), Freewheel, etc.
  • Lead team to use ad debugging tools such as Charles Proxy, Wireshark, Purple bug, Putty etc. for analyzing Yospace debug logs and troubleshooting issues in Digital Ad delivery systems.

15% - Maximize value of advertisement 

  • Work on advanced advertising features like Prefetch, Fallback and Prebid to optimize technical fill rates and reduce the number of slates.
  • Consult with third party vendors like Spot, Amazon etc. to integrate advanced Prebidding solutions on various OTT clients such as Roku/Fire TV.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related field, preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with product/project management in digital and or satellite delivery for Advertising Technology or content / distribution.
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Background in Scaled Agile Framework, preferably SAFe certified.
  • May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $105,830 - $192,050

Low (N1): $105,830 - $158,650

Mid (N2): $111,400 - $167,000

High (N3): $122,540 - $183,700

Top (N4): $128,110 - $192,050
