Job Summary

The Sr. Product Designer translates the wants and needs of stakeholders into visualizations that communicate the art of the possible for Product features and ideas. They manage the product design process by studying customer needs and creating solutions to deliver an appropriate experience. They explore solutions with the Product Management team by conducting experiments and creating minimal viable products and prototypes. They collaborate with Development teams to turn successful solution exploration ideas into Product features that achieve business outcomes.

Role Description

  • Efficiently create and present compelling visualizations for new product ideas.

  • Understand our strategic direction and business impact and communicate it to the rest of the team using new designs.

  • Understand our user’s wants, needs, goals, and pain points.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers to analyze how product ideas tie in with customer needs and preferences.

  • Ensure the Product is structured to maximize user interaction and meet user needs.

  • Conduct experiments that help the Product Management team understand customers and better prove whether there is value in solving a particular problem.

  • Use experiments to quickly prove whether Product hypotheses are true or false.

  • Create no-code prototypes to learn whether specific user flows or features solve problems for users and allow them to achieve their desired outcomes.

  • Gather feedback from Product users and customers to improve the design of existing features.

Skill Level Requirements

  • Basic understanding of graphic design principles, visual aesthetics, and web accessibility standards - Intermediate

  • Proficiency in utilizing creative design applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva to create visually compelling graphics and designs - Intermediate

  • Ability to oversee and direct projects to completion, ensuring goals are met, resources are utilized efficiently, and stakeholders are satisfied - Intermediate

  • Experience in creating learning content using various authoring and design tools - Intermediate

  • Knowledge of fundamental instructional design theories and models, such as ADDIE and SAM - Intermediate

  • The ability to systematically identify, document, and manage the technical needs and specifications of a project by engaging with stakeholders and analyzing business objectives to ensure successful project outcomes - Intermediate

  • Experience in using HTML and CSS for web design and development tasks - Intermediate

Other Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree required

  • 10+ years of relevant Product Design or UX experience

  • Advanced instructional/e-learning certification such as ATD or IDOL preferred

  • Strong portfolio showcasing your past work and process

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
