We produce insightful content across multiple platforms and curate quality coverage from around the web to inform and entertain fans. We're an original fantasy sports pioneer, with a legacy of innovation that helps us continue to be a fantasy leader. And as one of the most-visited sports platforms on the internet, we're one of the best places for brands to reach fans.

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Product Designer to join our team and drive the user experience for our popular Fantasy Sports platform.

As a Sr. Product Designer, you will have the opportunity to work with a passionate and innovative team to create engaging and intuitive designs that will impact millions of Fantasy players worldwide. If you have a passion for designing user-centric products, a strong understanding of user-centered design principles, and a desire to work on a high-visibility product in the sports and gaming industry, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you will:

  • Overall, collaborate closely with product and engineering to translate ideas into polished, well-crafted, visually exciting and dynamic mobile-first experiences.

  • Collaborate with the product team to define and clarify requirements and overall experience strategy, leveraging early stage UX methods and low fidelity wireframes.

  • Prototype at high fidelity to explore concepts, validate hypotheses, and communicate design intent effectively.

  • Contribute to design direction on strategically important initiatives, partnering with other senior designers, design leadership, and product management.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for experience upgrades and design improvements, and work with product and engineering to ship those improvements.

  • Gather insights, synthesize findings, and refine UX strategy and design approaches based on evidence, quantitative trends, and user feedback.

  • Regularly present design work with clarity and confidence, grounding decisions in user needs and business priorities.

  • Guide feedback conversations and incorporate input in ways that strengthen the work while preserving design intent.

  • Regularly use and contribute to design systems and defining best practices.

  • Uphold and raise our visual and experience quality bar for experiences that span app, mobile web, and desktop.

Apply if you have:

  • Have 5-7 years of experience designing consumer-facing products, with an emphasis on mobile app design.

  • Are well-versed in a variety of design methods to clarify requirements and overall experience strategy (e.g. journey mapping, defining user stories and jobs to be done, etc.)

  • Regularly use an iterative design process, including discovery (user needs, business requirements, and industry best practices), low fidelity design, high fidelity design, interactive prototype development, and post-launch validation.

  • Have an exploratory, creative mindset, and are adept in adapting ideas to changing circumstances and taking risks.

  • Are thorough in reviewing work and conduct regular quality checks and reviews with your manager, the design team, team leadership, and engineering to ensure a flawless final product.

  • Manage your work and your process with autonomy and have a knack for moving work forward, and keep your momentum high. You communicate updates, challenges, and blockers to your manager and project team.

  • Are proactive in asking questions, gathering information and context, and helping to define requirements in close collaboration with Product and Engineering.

  • Are skilled in design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Design systematically: you account for dependencies and ways that styles, patterns, and hierarchies fit into the broader Sports, Yahoo, and/or industry ecosystems.

  • Are a positive, engaged contributor to team culture.

  • Use generative AI in your process to level up your thinking, design process and speed.

It's highly preferred if you have:

  • Have experience playing Fantasy sports, and/or are interested in Fantasy sports.

  • Have one or more “spikes” in design specialties that help uplift the quality and experience of Yahoo Fantasy (graphic/visual design, motion design, product illustration, etc.).

  • Have an aptitude or experience in running your own user research or usability studies.

  • Have previous experience in game design
