We’re seeking a systems-minded, detail-oriented Senior Product Designer to lead design for our Commerce tools. In this pivotal role, you’ll create thoughtful, user-centered experiences that support everyday shopping journeys, whether it’s buying a new laptop or car, moving homes, or making healthier lifestyle choices, with a strong focus on AI-powered tools.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners, including Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Content Strategists, to grow Yahoo Commerce into a trusted destination where people can find guidance on the best products and services for their needs.

As a design leader, you’ll own high-impact projects from concept through execution, ensuring every experience reflects Yahoo’s commitment to usability, accessibility, and visual excellence.

We’re especially interested in designers who already use AI tools as a core part of their process, from ideation and prototyping to research synthesis and documentation. You view AI not as an add-on, but as a creative partner that enhances your speed, insight, and imagination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of commerce tools across Yahoo products—supporting a wide range of shopping journeys with seamless UX, expert advice, and personalized product recommendations.

  • Deliver intuitive, trustworthy, and accessible interfaces that reflect a deep understanding of user needs, business goals, and regulatory considerations.

  • Design tools, systems, and flows that are modular, scalable, and consistent across product surfaces.

  • Advocate for clarity, simplicity, and usability throughout the customer journey from discovery to retention.

  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, research, content, and legal teams to turn ideas into production-ready solutions.

  • Prototype at varying fidelities to test ideas, validate flows, and communicate design intent effectively.

  • Work with researchers to uncover insights and continuously iterate based on user feedback and data.

  • Present your work clearly and confidently to stakeholders and peers, with strong rationale and strategic alignment.

  • Contribute to team critiques and help evolve design systems and patterns across surfaces.

  • Proactively explore emerging AI tools and best practices and use them to elevate your process and outcomes.

Who You Are

  • A strong systems thinker with an eye for clean, user-centered design.

  • Capable of navigating ambiguity and designing thoughtful experiences from scratch or within complex ecosystems.

  • A clear communicator who can advocate for users and influence decision-making with logic and empathy.

  • Skilled at balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives.

  • Familiar with motion and micro-interactions that enhance feedback and flow.

  • A collaborative teammate who supports colleagues with insightful feedback and positive energy.

  • Proficient in Figma (and optionally Framer or similar tools) to design, prototype, and iterate quickly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Visual Communication, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of experience designing digital products, preferably including subscription and payment systems.

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking, elegant interaction design, and polished UI craft.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools and processes.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
