OVERVIEW:

OVERVIEW: 

The Sr. Network Engineer drives the design of integrated telecommunications and unified communications (UC) systems to support the enterprise’s business needs. Implements telecom and UC solutions, develops automations, and optimizes business outcomes. Develops awareness of the dependencies and implications of key telecom engineering decisions. Coordinates initiatives with moderate complexity within the telecom value stream. Learns to lead teams. 

Enterprise Telecom Modernization: Deliver telecom and UC architecture services as assigned, preparing conceptual and logical diagrams to align technical direction and document future-state architectures. Lead modernization initiatives including SIP/VOIP migrations, UCaaS/CCaaS solutions, and enterprise call routing strategies. 

Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest ways to optimize telecom and UC solutions to better meet user and/or business performance, quality, and reliability needs. Evaluate emerging technologies in enterprise voice, collaboration platforms, and call center systems. 

Testing Telecom Performance: Drive the design and execution of call flow, IVR, and UC platform tests. Monitor and diagnose voice quality, latency, failover, and routing issues. Correct performance problems to ensure reliable and high-quality communications across the enterprise. 

Telecom and UC Development and Maintenance: Design and manage enterprise phone systems, SIP trunking, Cisco UCCX, and NICE Contact Center platforms. Provide a third-line point of escalation for enterprise telecom issues. Collaborate with carriers and vendors to ensure service delivery, manage escalations, and support contract optimization. 

Design and Conceptualization: Produce multiple concepts and prototypes for telecom and UC solutions, including contact center enhancements, workforce management integrations, and cross-platform collaboration tools. 

Information Security: Implement and test required telecom security measures such as encryption, call recording compliance, and E911. Monitor performance and partner with IT Security to support audits, monitoring, and regulatory compliance. 

Functional/Technical Requirements: Support the collection of telecom and UC functional requirements using document analysis and workflow analysis. Translate business needs into technical requirements for UC platforms, phone systems, and contact center solutions. 

Ongoing Learning and Development: Develop own and more junior team member capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant (e.g., Cisco Collaboration, Microsoft Teams Voice, NICE Contact Center). Maintain an understanding of telecom technology trends, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level preferred

  • General Experience: Experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others (Over 3 years to 6 years)

  • Managerial Experience: Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)

Targeted Pay Range: $83,000.00 - $138,200.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
