This is an individual contributor role that is responsible for providing expertise in support of planning, development and organization of organizational wholesaling strategies and go-to-market campaign (Plan to Thrive) tactics that align with key enterprise/department/program goals. The Senior Marketing Specialist – Business Development responsible for managing compliance processes, coordinating, and editing content, overseeing content distribution, managing business owner vendor relationships, and maintaining key platforms such as SharePoint and our content management system. This role leverages data and analytics to drive key business decisions, recommendations and to continuously improve implementation results. This position participates as a team member on larger or more complex work streams, projects and initiatives that engage cross-organizational team members. This role is responsible for some level of strategic development, as well as execution of tactics.

         

          

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with field-facing partners to develop, support, and promote business development strategies that grow and sustain successful advisor practices. 

  • Supports planning, creating and maintaining business development content systems (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint), ensuring accurate and up-to-date resources for field engagement.  

  • Leads implementation of Plan to Thrive framework and other business development initiatives. 

  • Builds and maintains trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business development strategy implementation. 

  • Enables execution of business development strategies through development and distribution of digital turn-key tools and field-facing content.  

  • Serves as the Business Development liaison with creative, compliance, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.  

  • Gathers feedback from field, Thrivent Advisor Network (TAN), and other stakeholders and leverages internal data and analytics (e.g., Salesforce B2E) to ensure alignment and to optimize business development programs. 

  • Contributes to cross-functional corporate initiatives as needed. 

  • Collaborates with third-party presenters to ensure compliance and quality of presentations and materials. 

  • Manages the Adtrax process, including new submissions, annual resubmissions, and coordination with business owners and vendors.  

  • Oversees content editing, media production (e.g., Qumu links), and distribution of vendor posting and field access.

  • This role will collaborate with:  

  • Advisors and Business Development colleagues to develop advisor focused sales and marketing campaigns designed to help us position and sell our solutions to clients. 

  • Product teams to understand our competitive advantages and how to position them in the sales and marketing campaigns.   

  • Advice team to understand what advice tools, reports and narratives we should present to help clients understand the need for our solutions, and the most effective way to implement them. 

  • Legal and compliance teams to ensure our campaigns and messaging meets all the appropriate compliance rules and guidelines.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:   

 Required:   

  • 5+ years marketing and/or working in a financial services organization 

  • College degree in marketing or related field. 

  • Experience in a specialized area of marketing (direct marketing, e-marketing, communications, analytics, brand positioning, social networking media, etc.) and/or project/program management. 

  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional customer service mindset. 

  • Demonstrates strong project management and collaboration skills 

  • Applies a development mindset that uses creativity and marketing expertise to develop new, more effective and more efficient marketing approaches. 

  • Business acumen and the ability to work across a large organization. 

  • Collaboration/networking skills. 

  • Ability to work on multiple workstreams at the same time.  

 

Preferred:   

  • Experience building sales and marketing campaigns/materials for Life and Annuity products.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $83,934.00 - $113,559.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
