This role leads multiple teams developing and delivering myQ software systems, including web/mobile applications, services, databases, and APIs. The Senior Manager drives a high-quality user experience by solving complex engineering challenges, improving processes, and overseeing project and resource planning.

Responsibilities include managing engineering talent, budgets, and project execution while ensuring adherence to established engineering practices. The role provides technical leadership, sets best practices, and leads continuous improvement across middleware development. It also coordinates local and remote consultants and partners closely with marketing, product owners, scrum masters, and other engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of on time, on budget and quality functional project
  • execution for one or more team(s) to ensure system reliability
  • Responsible for one or more team(s) and/or efforts, and may have one or more managers reporting to them
  • Responsible for the functional plan, including resource effort, schedule estimate and cost, for new and active projects for one or more team(s)
  • Responsible for 18-month project forecasting for multiple teams; accountable for direct reports project time accounting
  • Responsible for the functional design approach and technical feasibility for multiple projects, with input from key technical personnel from a single team
  • Ensure functional process compliance
  • Maintain standards-based documentation across various architectural views (Conceptual, Logical and Physical) and tiers (Presentation, Business Logic and Storage)
  • Responsible for meeting and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for functional group
  • Ensure Architectural principals and standards are clearly defined, documented, communicated and maintained across project and product lifecycles
  • Manage the code branching strategy and release process, including verification steps for any mobile
  • application and websites during the development, to QA, to production steps
  • Maintain and mature multi-platform continuous integration and continuous deployment processes and

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the functional area
  • Develop, maintain and execute on a 1–3 year technology roadmap projects
  • Responsible for annual expense and capital budget planning and tracking for their team
  • Drive the growth, maturity, and execution of the Engineers and Managers in their teams.  Responsible for the monitoring and/or creation of development plans for members of their teams that improves the core competencies of the individuals and manages performance accordingly.
  • Review and approve the functional deliverables, pull requests and Change Approval Board (CAB)

  • Ensure design quality through participation in design reviews for projects supported by team; serve on
  • Change Authorization Board as an alternate as needed
  • Builds key cross functional relationships with other functional areas in operations and development
  • Proactively collaborates with the End to End Software Architecture and myQ technical teams

  • the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; an additional 4 years of job related experience can substitute for the bachelor's degree
  • An advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of job-related experience
  • 8+ years of job-related experience and 5+ years of software development leadership experience
  • Experience managing teams that deliver at-scale high availability software systems.
  • Experience in defining architectural specifications to create quality software

You can engage in technical discussions with engineering teams, understand trade-offs between different architectural approaches, and make informed decisions about technical direction without necessarily writing the code yourself.
  • Ability to work with technical teams to diagnose issues, understand root causes, and drive resolution of complex problems. You can ask the right questions, follow technical discussions, and help prioritize fixes based on business impact.
  • Fundamental understanding of how systems communicate, including networking concepts, APIs, data exchange formats, and integration patterns. You can comprehend how different applications and services connect and work together within complex technical ecosystems.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Atlassian tools JIRA and Confluence as a project administrator and user
  • Experience in project management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to run a Value Stream Mapping (VSM) event
  • In depth knowledge of Agile development processes
The pay range for this position is $159,490.00 - $267,742.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
