Q2 is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team of full stack developers and quality engineers to deliver an industry-changing fintech platform. You will be working at a company whose mission is to build stronger and more diverse communities by strengthening their financial intuitions, while working with Fintechs who want to bring change and innovation to the financial world. As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will manage a team of skilled engineers working with JavaScript (Ember.js, Vue.js, Node.js) and Python to deliver a high-quality, secure, and scalable banking platform. Additionally, you will oversee key aspects such as quality, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines. It requires a highly motivated and focused individual capable of leading and building high performing innovative teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of full stack engineers (JavaScript and Python) in building and maintaining our banking platform and SDK.
- Oversee end-to-end development cycles, from requirements gathering and planning through deployment and post-release monitoring.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab/Jenkins and other relevant tools for automated testing, builds, and distribution.
- Ensure the platform performance, reliability, and crash-free experience by leveraging monitoring tools and crash reporting solutions.
- Collaborate closely with product management, design, and backend engineering teams to align platform development with overall product goals and roadmaps.
- Drive continuous improvement within the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Monitor and address technical debt, and ensure the delivery of scalable and maintainable code.
- Stay updated on engineering best practices, tools, and emerging technologies, and incorporate them into the team’s workflow.
- Lead cross-organizational strategic initiatives that drive cost savings, performance, and reliability to the platform.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent relevant work experience.
Typically requires 2-5 years managing and developing employees. - Expertise in JavaScript, Python, and SQL.
- Experience with monitoring and crash reporting tools like Splunk, SetinelOne, or similar.
- Experience in a client interfacing role required
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Knowledge and experience in the banking industry preferred.
- Experience integrating applications with core banking platforms desired
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain patient with non-technical customers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Solid understanding of AWS architecture patterns.
This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
