Job Description

Role Summary

The Resource Business Planning Manager is responsible for leading the development, integration, and management of business plans related to the company’s resource base. This role acts as a strategic interface between operating and joint venture assets, finance, and corporate strategy teams to ensure alignment of resource business plans with the goals / priorities of the business aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. The successful candidate will drive processes that support optimized resource development, value-based planning, and informed decision-making for portfolio growth and capital allocation.

This position is part of the resources organization and will report to the Sr Director of Resource Strategy and Business Planning.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days per week - Tuesday through Thursday - in our Charlotte, NC office.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate the integration of resource planning into the broader business and long-range planning processes, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and technical standards.
  • Lead life-of-asset planning efforts, including scenario analysis to evaluate development pathways, cut-off strategies, and project timing based on technical, financial, and strategic considerations.
  • Manage annual resource planning cycles, incorporating updates to resource models, mine plans, production forecasts, and input from operational and technical teams.
  • Support asset portfolio reviews and optimization by evaluating resource performance, life-of-mine value, strategic fit, and project readiness across the portfolio.
  • Work closely with geology, mine engineering, metallurgy, finance, ESG, and business development teams to ensure robust technical inputs into planning processes and clear communication of assumptions and outcomes.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of resource planning outputs to senior leadership, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and consistency with governance requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of planning tools, models, and systems that enable efficient, data-driven resource planning and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Geology, Mine Engineering, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)
  • 8–12 years of experience in the mining industry, with strong exposure to resource planning, mine planning, or strategic planning roles.
  • Solid understanding of Mineral Resource and Reserve concepts, mine economics, and life-of-mine planning.
  • Experience with long-range planning processes, scenario modeling, and portfolio analysis.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proficiency in planning tools and software (e.g. Excel, Power BI, or other modeling tools).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven problem solver and analytical thinker

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with corporate-level planning or strategy development.
  • Familiarity with JORC, NI 43-101, or other relevant resource reporting standards.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization.
