Sr. Manager, Program Management

The Sr. Manager, Program Management is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire data solution delivery process in a cloud environment, ensuring projects are executed on time and meet business requirements by managing stakeholder expectations, leading a cross-functional team, and driving continuous improvement in delivery methodologies. This role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of data engineering development, cloud technologies, data quality testing and business stakeholder engagement. The role will serve as a key contact person between the various business functions and technical teams
Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery Excellence:

  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring compliance with timelines, data quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Develop and maintain project governance structures, processes, and KPIs.
  • Generate detailed reports on project performance, risks, and issues, providing impact analysis and mitigation strategies.
  • A dedicated advocate for Agile principles and methodologies, with a proven ability to drive collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
  • Play a critical part in promoting Agile excellence & will be accountable for setting up and guiding multiple globally distributed agile teams.
  • Challenge the status quo and provide an innovative way of thinking for out-of-the-box data quality and data performance metrics
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risk, and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Leading and managing complex data projects from initiation to deployment, helping to define project scope, timelines and milestones, leveraging strong project management skills.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore resources to create comprehensive projects and sprint plans.
  • Track progress against plans, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage project scope using documented change management techniques.
    Risk and Resource Management
  • Proactively identify potential risks and communicate them effectively.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of mitigation and remediation plans.
  • Manage the allocation and utilization of project resources, ensuring optimal productivity.
    Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of onshore and offshore professionals, including Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, and QA Analysts.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, providing clear leadership and swift problem resolution with promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Engage the team to identify project issues, risks, and develop action plans.
  • Providing mentorship and career development opportunities for team members.

Business Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Work closely with product owners to understand their business objectives and develop solutions that meet these objectives.
  • Engage in direct stakeholder communications with a high comfort level, maintaining excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Facilitates change management, training and communication of new processes and technology
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business, data and technical teams.
     

Operational Oversight

  • Track progress against plans and budget, noting exceptions and action plans.
  • Maintain flexibility to manage diverse teams and meet critical deadlines.

Professional Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience in a professional data warehousing/ engineering & analytics development environment.
  • Experience managing the full development life cycle of enterprise data products.
  • Experience in Retail is beneficial.
     

Technical Expertise

  • Strong experience in Cloud Native Architecture, Data engineering & analytics practices, SAFe Agile Framework, QA for data products and design patterns.
  • Technical understanding of Azure and MS tech stack, including integration services and security & monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, data lakes and data pipelines
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirement

  • Communication & Organization: Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a natural aptitude for engaging directly with stakeholders. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven, with a track record of effective problem resolution.
