About the Role

We’re looking for a Sr. Manager, Global People Operations Programs to join our team to lead the strategy and execution of Vercel’s programs supporting our team outside the US. This role ensures our international footprint operates with precision, consistency, and compliance to support our teams across EMEA, APAC, Canada and LATAM.

As part of the People Ops leadership team, you’ll have the opportunity to scale compliant and efficient operations globally, managing how we hire, support, and enable talent in the global regions. You’ll lead programs like entity expansion for workforce planning, EOR partnership, contingent workforce management, and global mobility (including immigration and relocation).

Your work will make it easier for our teams worldwide to move fast while maintaining operational excellence and local compliance.

What You Will Do:
  • Drive programs supporting our employees and broader People Team strategy outside the US, including vendor management, and workflows that deliver consistent, high-quality employee experiences across regions.
  • Lead Vercel’s entity expansion strategy for workforce planning, evaluating new markets and operational readiness in partnership with Legal and Finance.
  • Manage EOR and benefits vendors across 25+ countries, ensuring scalable processes, service quality, and accurate employee data.
  • Oversee contingent workforce operations, developing frameworks for compliant and flexible engagement models globally.
  • Drive global mobility programs, including immigration, relocation, and international transfers, ensuring seamless experiences for employees and hiring managers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, IT, and Talent Acquisition to implement scalable, compliant systems for a rapidly growing international workforce.
  • Lead and mentor a distributed team (including the Senior People Operations Specialist and regional cross-functional partners) to build operational consistency, documentation, and process excellence.
About You:
  • Have 10+ years of HR operations and at least 5+ years of people leadership experience, focused on designing global frameworks that account for local nuance in the EMEA, APAC, Canada and LATAM regions.
  • Have a proven track record scaling global operations including entity setup, data and system compliance, benefits, immigration, EOR, and contingent workforce programs within global or hypergrowth tech environments.
  • Are naturally highly collaborative, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, drive alignment with regions and functions and work across time zones.
  • Are passionate about crafting exceptional employee experiences through thoughtful processes.
  • Have the ability to drive strategy and to easily dive into operational details when needed.
  • Operate with high integrity when dealing with sensitive employee data, situations and escalations.
Bonus If You:
  • Bring experience managing vendors or operations partnering with a US leadership team in a scaling global tech company with a widespread global footprint.

  • Have implemented and scaled a HRIS system, and EOR, global mobility and contingent workforce programs.

  • Have a deep understanding of EMEA employment policies and practices, and knowledge about APAC and the Americas is a plus.

  • Thrive in ambiguity and bring structure to complex, global challenges.

What exceptional looks like on the People Team
  • Make it fast, make it count: We donʼt just complete tasks. We move with urgency, hungry to deliver value now. If somethingʼs not shipped, it nags at us. This isnʼt about chaos or hustle theater. Itʼs a sharp focus on what matters and momentum to match. At most companies, people teams are steady and methodical. At Vercel, speed signals ownership, not recklessness.
  • Know the business, fly high and low: We understand how Vercel works. The product, the market, the way decisions get made. We use that context to shape how we hire, how we support teams, and when we push back. And we donʼt just think strategically. We execute tactically. We can map out org design in the morning and handle edge-case execution in the afternoon. That range, from the macro to the gritty, makes our team a multiplier. Not just a service layer, but an engine for scale.
  • Own it end to end: Maniac-level ownership is the baseline. We donʼt wait for handoffs or follow-ups. We take full responsibility for outcomes, prioritize sharply, and follow through without needing reminders. This isnʼt extra credit. Itʼs just how we work. When something matters, we carry it through.
  • Connect the dots others miss: We see the system, not just the request. That means catching duplicate asks, broken loops, or mismatched priorities before they cause friction. People Ops sits in a unique spot to spot patterns and surface gaps. The best among us donʼt just react. We recognize the signal and move early.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $160,000.00 - $240,000.00. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location, and the total package includes benefits and equity-based compensation. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.

Vercel is committed to fostering and empowering an inclusive community within our organization. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Vercel encourages everyone to apply for our available positions, even if they don't necessarily check every box on the job description.
