The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of the Applied Water business on a global scale. This leader will drive financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis, while delivering actionable insights that support growth, efficiency, and informed decision-making.
This role also serves as a key partner in advancing Business Intelligence capabilities across the business, enabling deeper visibility into performance trends, operational drivers, and improvement opportunities. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR, and Finance to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and to continuously improve financial and business performance.
Applied Water (AW) is a global business with multiple sites, a broad portfolio of products, and both internal and external customers. With approximately $1.8B in revenue across four divisions, AW requires strong financial leadership to support strategic decision-making, operational performance, and profitable growth.

Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Collaborate with various departments, including but not only, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Hr, to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
Provide financial expertise and support to cross-functional teams.
Analyze financial information and reports to deliver accurate and timely insights to senior leaders for strategic decision-making.
Drive actions to improve financial performance by highlighting and analyzing unexpected variances, proactively identifying and mitigating financial and business risks, and collaborating with Ops and Business leaders to execute opportunities that achieve or exceed business commitments.
Identify areas of success and opportunity within the AW strategy that may require further management attention.
Ensure timely submission of reporting packages to Senior Management and Corporate HQ with high-quality analysis and drive effective communication and visual management as requested.
Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop and maintain accurate financial forecasts and budgets. Monitor performance against forecasts and budgets and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed.
Business Intelligence:
Utilize advanced Business Intelligence tools and techniques to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
Generate actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
Support all finance matters related to Business Intelligence, including data management, financial reporting, and performance analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of Business Intelligence insights into financial planning and strategy.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial processes and systems through the application of Business Intelligence.
Performance Improvement: Identify areas for financial and operational improvement. Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive business growth.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive analysis and reporting.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices. Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
8+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, finance, or related roles.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to senior leaders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business operating systems/applications.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience at Xylem.
LEAN and/or Green Belt certification.
International business experience in a global or matrixed organization.

The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
