The Senior Manager, Tech Lead will play a pivotal role in defining technical strategies and architectural solutions, leading the development and deployment of ordering features and enhancements for McDonald's commerce channels. The Tech Lead will focus on Channel Orchestration capabilities within the ordering domain. Our Channel Orchestrators power the ordering experience across our commerce channels, facilitating communication between multiple clients and our ordering microservices to enable order placement and completion. This role will focus on orchestrators and orchestrator processors driving ordering at McDonald's. The Tech Lead will report to the Director - Tech Lead (Ordering).

• Experience in retail, restaurant and/or digital technology, especially mobile and web applications.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing direct and indirect reports.

• Understanding of CI/CD practices, rollback strategies and zero-downtime deployments

Responsibilities
- Establish a technical vision and strategy for our products, with a primary focus on McDonald's ordering capabilities across customer-facing channels. Create solutions that align with business goals for the channel orchestration experience. Evaluate, solution and lead the development of software capabilities.
- Drive the technical direction for ordering capabilities and lead development teams.
- Partner with Product counterpart to break down large, complex solutions into smaller deliverables that provide functionality to users. Work with product counterpart to prepare product and sprint backlog.
- Partner with our Product, Architecture, Operations, and other teams to aid the solution, development, and deployment processes.
- Act as the technical leader for Software Development Engineers (SDEs) within your squads, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to best practices. Provide leadership to team members and peers, collaborate with others, and hold yourself and the team accountable for results.
- Lead infrastructure sizing and tuning for all Commerce Platforms domains. Provide infrastructure support to all Commerce Platforms teams. Work with squads to triage and resolve infrastructure-related issues. Aid in performance tuning and sizing for Commerce Platforms triads.
- Ensure test coverage across all orchestrator features and services. Partner with DevOps and other teams to increase automation test coverage. Work with engineering teams to emphasize test-driven development practices.
- Manage external vendor squads and partners to ensure they meet McDonald's quality and efficiency standards.
- Ensure code development aligns with architectural, quality, and security standards, maintaining documentation standards for all software shipped.
- Be accountable for the deployment of new features, including quality assurance, environment deployment, and defect remediation.
- Act as a mentor to junior Tech Leads, sharing your expertise and fostering their growth.
