Backblaze is expanding rapidly and our Sr. Manager, Data Infrastructure will manage a team of engineers and work with the Operations and Engineering teams to build and enhance large scale data systems.

About the Role:

The Sr. Manager, Data Infrastructure leads a team responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining data solutions (e.g. Vitess, Cassandra, ValKey, NATS) at cloud scale to support the Backblaze service.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain systems critical to delivering the Backblaze service
  • Improve production system scalability, performance, and availability
  • Work closely with Operations and Application Engineers to develop new solutions and optimize existing ones
  • Deliver enhancements to observability, operability and reliability to lower TCO.
  • Support Backblaze’s growth with highly scalable solutions
  • Develop goals and strategies within the team to deliver quantifiable results

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The expected salary range for this role is $205,000 - $230,000.
