This person will lead the technical strategy, governance, and day-to-day health of our ad stack while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Ad Operations to drive revenue, reduce friction, and ensure flawless delivery of campaigns.

They will proactively identify and implement new monetization opportunities, evaluate and deploy ad products, troubleshoot complex delivery issues, and continuously optimize inventory, demand, and yield. This role requires a mix of technical depth, platform expertise, analytical rigor, and strong cross-functional communication.

Within 1 month, you will:
  • Gain full ownership of the ad tech stack (GAM, SSPs, identity partners, data integrations).
  • Build relationships with Sales, Ad Ops, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Begin assessing platform health, delivery quality, and revenue performance.
  • Start fielding and resolving escalated ad delivery issues while learning existing workflows.
Within 6 months, you will:
  • Lead yield and optimization initiatives across direct and programmatic channels.
  • Implement new monetization opportunities and test new ad products.
  • Oversee QA and deployment of new ad tech integrations (SSPs, measurement, identity, etc.).
  • Partner with Product/Engineering to scope and prioritize ad tech initiatives tied to revenue impact.
  • Begin driving measurable improvements in viewability, fill rate, and eCPM.
Within 12 months, you will:
  • Fully own yield strategy across channels with year-over-year revenue lift.
  • Mature the ad tech ecosystem, including governance, documentation, and roadmap execution.
  • Lead cross-functional education on ad tech, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Deliver ongoing analysis of monetization performance and establish a continuous-optimization framework.
  • Become the organization’s expert advisor on ad product innovation and emerging ad tech capabilities.
What YOU bring to Outside:
  • 5+ years of digital media experience (ideally publisher-side; agency/ad tech partner experience relevant).
  • Mastery of Google Ad Manager including trafficking, pricing, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Experience with first-party audience platforms (e.g., Permutive, LiveRamp).
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience using Looker, STAQ, Amplitude, BigQuery, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of programmatic ecosystems: SSPs, DSPs, deal types, and bid-path mechanics.
  • Working knowledge of web/app performance concepts including Core Web Vitals and efficient tag/SDK implementation.
