The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Senior Lead, Back End Developer.
The Full-Stack Developer (Sr. Lead, Back-end Developer) is accountable for the Back End execution and organization of development on all of IJM’s resource technology platforms, including web page build outs, online give forms, Experience Cloud, Shopify e-store, Bizzabo, integrating and maintaining third-party platforms, and IJM web optimization and maintenance. You will also serve as the primary day-to-day technical main point of contact for clients, third-party vendors, technology partners, and internal project stakeholders. This position will enable the execution of IJM’s global overall resource technology strategy, digital campaigns and projects that raise revenue, advocacy and prayer to end slavery in our lifetime.
The ideal candidate will be driven by producing excellent and timely work that enables high-functioning web performance, as well as an ability to simplify complex technology concepts and to plan, prioritize, and integrate all moving parts to deploy successful solutions. This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Global Director, Global Digital Solutions and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:

Lead, manage and reinforce web development governance policies for all regional offices
-
Lead ongoing technical web optimization projects
-
Lead Regional teams through their back-end web development and ensure the resource technology processes are adhered to.
Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation:
-
Alongside Global Director, Resource Technology, develop plan to maintain highly functional technical performance across all owned platforms.

Implement back-end web development efficiently and effectively.

Optimize web properties within web guidelines and implement across all resource technology platforms
Networking & Partnership:
-
Work with various agencies on all IJM web property needs by stewarding positive relationship with outside entities
Policies and Procedures:
-
Regularly maintain digital standards and policies within the Web Governance

Own the digital development process for all regional offices, and any other regional or global staff stakeholders

Responsible for ensuring templates and modules across web properties are up-to-date and correct in collaboration with the global marketing team

Establish and maintain website directory structures within an enterprise content management system.
Communication:
-
Communicate with project stakeholders on web development timelines and execution.

Communicate any changes to web development standards and policies to all regional offices.

Participate in various meetings by presenting on web development trends.
Training and Development:
-
Train any and all staff that will be stakeholders with various resource technology platforms.

Administrator of the CMS, including training and granting/maintaining permissions of other users and authors
Research and Program Management:
-
Utilizes various content management systems platforms (ie Craft, Bizzabo, Funraise) requiring the translation of business needs, processing into functional specifications

In collaboration with digital marketing team, implement 'A/B' testing, usability testing, and other testing as needed.
Documentation, Reporting & Data Management:

Record and use analytics data to inform strategy.

Create and distribute regular performance analysis and reports on digital platform functionality.
Events and Logistics:

Assist cross-platform digital projects for the organization around events, publications, and other key moments
General tasks:

Participate in interviews for new resource technology staff

Routinely participate in resource technology strategy development conversations
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree required; or equivalent experience
-
6+ years’ experience in web development and coding
-
4+ years’ experience with Salesforce suite of products
-
Previous experience with Craft CMS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and Google analytics
-
Knowledge of responsive design, web standards and best practice
-
Strong and proven ability to code responsive webpages and emails that are optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop

Proven understanding of cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility issues and experience working through them
