INTECON LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Information Technology Specialist to support the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) through its upcoming IDIQ contract. The Senior IT Specialist will provide technical leadership and expertise in IT systems, data management, and software support services across MACPAC task orders. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to important federal health policy research by ensuring that technical systems and data infrastructure are reliable, secure, and optimized for performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and software in support of MACPAC research and analysis tasks.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting across a wide range of IT services, including software applications, databases, cloud platforms, and secure data environments.
- Manage data processing environments and ensure that data pipelines and tools used by project teams are reliable and efficient.
- Support the secure handling of Medicaid and CHIP data, including adherence to relevant security and privacy standards (e.g., FISMA, HIPAA, Section 508).
- Develop and maintain documentation, system configurations, and technical user guides to support project work.
- Collaborate closely with analysts, programmers, researchers, and MACPAC staff to ensure that IT solutions meet project requirements and technical needs.
- Provide training and mentoring to junior IT staff or project team members as needed.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in information technology, software systems, and IT support services.
- Proven experience supporting research and data analysis projects involving complex data environments.
- Expertise in:
- Database administration and management (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Data pipelines, ETL processes, and large-scale data storage solutions
- Virtual environments and secure remote access tools
- Software tools used in health policy research (e.g., SAS, R, Stata) support installations, integrations, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with information security standards and compliance requirements relevant to federal contracts (FISMA, HIPAA, Section 508).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple technical priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with a client-focused mindset.
- Experience supporting Medicaid or CHIP-related data analysis or research.
- Familiarity with CMS data sources (e.g., T-MSIS, Medicaid Statistical Information System).
- Experience supporting federal research contracts or task orders under IDIQs.
- Experience developing 508-compliant IT tools and products.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
