Your Role at Baxter:
This position will support and enhance the technical implementation of Baxter Care Communications products. Your duties will include software, hardware, and network and implementation activities, advanced IT tasks (network design and topology, network integrations, etc.), and providing oversight, training, and direction to implementation activities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Strong understanding of the implementation process for Baxter’s Care Communications products and integration of their partners’ applications/systems.
- Support network architecture, system fail-over, and other technical system design discussions with customer PMO, IT, MIS or bio-med departments, installation contractors, and other trades as required.
- Partner with customer IT departments to identify and resolve network security issues ensuring compliance with policies and procedures for specified customer servers, device infrastructure, and network topology.
- Leads technical aspect of team-based projects, managing dynamic deployments of advanced features and applications which can include customized integrations, evolving configurations, and adapting system functionality to best meet clinical workflow requests.
- Collaborating with technical leads to maintain up-to-date knowledge of product changes and ensure Teams are adequately prepared for new products.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and revision of technical documentation, process documentation, troubleshooting documents, and how-to guides.
- Refine existing business processes and identify opportunities for new processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support field-based technical escalations to resolve complex technical issues.
- Participate in the review and approval of technical product design drawings to ensure compliance with defined standards.
- Deliver technical training sessions on proprietary and industry topics to enhance the skills and knowledge of Implementation team members.
- Develop and maintain technical tools necessary to facilitate efficient Implementation operations and support team productivity.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach towards safety, health, and quality in compliance with all company, governmental and customer regulations, while staying consistent to all company policies and procedures.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required or a minimum of 3+ years of related server/network engineering experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience as an Implementation Engineer with Hillrom is preferred.
- Willing and able to travel approximately 50%; however, when business is necessitated, travel can be 100% and on short notice.
- Deep knowledge of Baxter proprietary products and implementation processes.
- Advanced understanding of deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows platforms, SQL, IIS server and associated networked systems.
- Detailed knowledge of common network protocols/architecture (TCP/IP, IP routing, the OSI model, VLAN) and their relevant security issues including network troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, PUTTY, and CLI.
- Understanding of back-end network security and Active Directory functionality.
- Server administration experience with Linux server environments is a bonus.
- Understanding of PMO fundamentals and demonstrated history of performing projects.
- Ability to lead small teams with diverse technical skills during implementations as needed.
- Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills to resolve complex network and server related issues into practical concepts for customers to understand.
- Maintain a professional image and demonstrate a willingness to contribute at all levels.
- Perform complex research and analysis and solve/resolve critical problems over sustained time durations in a logical manner.
- Experience configuring, setting up, and debugging PC-based systems.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and have a valid driver’s license.
- Cisco certifications: CCNA, CCDP or CCNP, CWLS, CWNA preferred
- Wireless certifications: CWNE, CWNP, CWSP, AWLAT, MNAWS, MNAWP, MNCE preferred
- General certifications: MCSE or MCSA, Network+, Security + preferred
May be required to demonstrate expertise in two or more of the following areas to support business needs:
- SQL/Scripting/Reporting Engines/Analytics (SAS Crystal, etc.)
- Networking (TCP/IP, Routing and Switching, Subnetting, Security)
- Enterprise level hardware (Server/Client OS, SANS, RAID)
- Middleware (Rhapsody, etc.)
- HL7
- Wireless - Enterprise level/managed networks
- RF Principles
- Cisco routing and switching technologies and capabilities
- Experience conducting wireless site assessments, wireless network configuration, certification, and debugging (use of voice and data protocol analyzers)
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $80,000 to $110,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
