Sr. Energy Storage Project Development Team Leader
Locations: FULLY REMOTE - Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Sau Paulo, and surrounding areas)
This is an opportunity to join a trailblazing BESS (Battery Energy Storage) company backed by top-tier private equity, leading the charge in utility-scale energy storage development, execution, and operations. The Sr. Renewables BESS Development Manager will de-risk and take next generation battery storage projects through the full development lifecycle in Brazil. These are complex portfolios that require an intimate knowledge of the transmission interconnection and permitting as it relates to the project development process. A proven showcased by a proven track record of working through transmission auctions, ONS and EPE rules to get projects to NTP/COD in Brazil. This role will help lead and drive the commercial strategy in Brazil and represent the company's interest through manager relationships with Brazilian Partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sr. Renewables BESS Project Development Leader - Lead greenfield utility-scale grid infrastructure development projects through the creation of development and project de-risking strategies
- Sr. Renewables BESS Project Development Leader - Responsible for bringing greenfield development assets from site origination, permitting, interconnection, and revenue contract, through project NTP
- Sr. Renewables BESS Project Development Leader - Acts as the frontline commercial negotiator for PPAs, interconnection, ONS, EPE, and other related agreements/policies
- Sr. Renewables BESS Project Development Leader - Acquires project sites for utility-scale grid infrastructure projects then brings them through the diligence and de-risking process
- Sr. Renewables BESS Project Development Leader - Works with markets and origination team to identify and quantify opportunities, then owning responsibility for RFP submittal for utility-scale solar renewable projects
- Sr. Renewables BESS Project Development Leader - Ensures all projects/deals continue to meet or exceed financial hurdles and manages the financing of each new grid infrastructure development deal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commercial Management and Project Management Leadership experience that involves working through EPE, ONS, Power market structures, or transmission auctions in Brazil
- Proven track record of developing tactical renewable energy, transmission, or energy infrastructure project development tactics and portfolio de-risking strategies in Brazil
- Experience taking multiple grid-connected utility-scale renewable energy projects from greenfield site origination through to NTP/COD in Brazil
- Experience working through the following agreement types: Site lease or purchase agreements, Site Plan and Building Permit approvals, Interconnection agreements, Power purchase or tolling agreements, and MIPA / PSA for project disposition / acquisition
- Well versed in project siting, permitting, prospecting, and other due diligence initiatives for utility-scale renewables
- MUST have a breadth of hands-on experience with real estate/land transactions & contracts for projects with Developers / IPPs
- Solid understanding of the RFP / RFI process as it relates to renewable project development initiatives
- Any exposure or renewable energy project experience with energy storage, battery storage, or solar + storage is a HUGE PLUS
- Previous utility-scale renewable energy development experience working in the following roles: Sr. Project Development Manager, Senior Manager of Project Development, Sr. Project Manager (Development), Business Development Manager, M&A Project Development Leader, Sr. Renewables Developer, Commercial Portfolio Manager, Lead Project Developer...etc
