The Sr. Embedded Algorithm Engineer will prototype and implement algorithms on BioIntelliSense’s devices, in order to extract core vital signs. Having high quality data at this stage is essential for the enablement of downstream clinical intelligence. Being able to successfully deliver on product requirements in a timely manner is necessary to the company’s success.
Prototype algorithms:
-- Research novel methods for vital sign signal extraction using high frequency sensor data
-- Work with product team to define algorithm requirements and test metrics
-- Iterate rapidly to develop algorithm prototypes and communicate performance tradeoffs
Productize algorithms:
-- Port algorithms to C and optimize computations to meet processor and power constraints
-- Develop test protocols for data collection team, and perform QA to ensure the product meets the requirements
Contribute to team infrastructure:
-- Ideate new tools to automate algorithm benchmarking and testing to improve team efficiency
What We Are Looking For:
- PhD or MS in EE, CS, or related engineering field
- 5+ years experience in signal processing and algorithm design
- Experience with fixed-point time-series data
- Experience in embedded C, especially in resource constrained systems
- Experience with low-cost ARM processors, such as ARM Cortex M0/M4 or similar
- Strong proficiency in Python or Matlab
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a startup environment
