As a Senior Director Strategic Planning here at Honeywell, you will lead critical strategic initiatives and support long-term growth through rigorous analysis, structured problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
In this role, you will shape strategy development and execution by leading annual and multi-year planning cycles, tracking performance and key initiatives, coordinating stakeholder input, and translating strategic priorities into actionable plans.
You will report to the SVP & Chief Strategy Officer and work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development and execution of strategic plans to drive long term growth by defining multiyear strategies that align with enterprise objectives and translate into actionable plans.
- Manage strategic planning processes by coordinating end-to-end inputs, facilitating alignment discussions, supporting governance routines, and tracking progress against plans.
- Drive and scale strategy execution of enterprise initiatives, such as verticals, ARR growth, regional growth, and portfolio shaping.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities through data‑driven assessment of markets, customers, technologies, and competitive dynamics.
- Conduct M&A-related market research to identify and screen potential targets for inorganic growth, including strategic fit, market positioning, and value-creation opportunities.
- Contribute to portfolio strategy and shaping by assessing strategic fit, supporting prioritization and resource allocation discussions, and preparing recommendations on portfolio actions (e.g., invest, divest, partner, acquire) across businesses and regions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive strategic initiatives in regions and across businesses by partnering with senior leaders to align priorities and accelerate execution in a matrixed environment.
- Monitor and evaluate industry trends and competitive landscape to proactively identify risks, opportunities, and implications for strategic direction.
- Support senior leadership decision making by synthesizing insights, building options, and delivering clear, fact-based recommendations.
- Support vertical strategy and solutions planning by helping define growth plays, aligning stakeholders, building roadmaps and business cases, and tracking delivery against strategic milestones.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, consulting, corporate strategy, or related roles
- Proven track record of developing, driving, and executing successful strategic plans
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and work effectively in cross-functional, matrixed teams

- Bachelor’s and/or advanced degrees in business management, finance, or other related field
- Industrial domain knowledge
- Exposure to M&A, including an understanding of how the end-to-end process works (e.g., sourcing, diligence, valuation, approvals, integration planning)
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
