Job Description

Scale of Responsibilities:

  • Drive key initiatives across the global function, with a focus on process, communication, training, compliance, and metrics relative to supplier engagement and strategy.
  • Drive the development and implementation of category & sourcing strategies in our supply base and establish enterprise-wide standard processes and systems.
  • Create a resilience management team that will be responsible for the alignment of crisis impact, resolution strategy, playbook/strategy creation and execution, and alignment across the business landscape.
  • Establish the Procurement Training & Development program for competency development and implementation.
  • Lead a team of Procurement Program managers focused on driving continuous improvement and sustainable project management across the enterprise.
  • Through crisis management responsibilities, partner to align digital solutions within Procurement.
  • Develop and lead a Supplier Risk Platform to reduce our supply risk exposure and drive revenue protection across all Groups. The platform will be flexible and agile through changing landscape of risk and aligned across the enterprise.
  • Lead the evaluation, consolidation, and usage expectations for risk tools throughout the organization.
  • Work across Groups and Divisions to understand and establish risk mitigation plans linked to margin impact at the product level.
  • Create and partner to implement the new product development process inclusive of technology solutions for standardized dashboards, supplier selection process, cross functional alignment for decision making, and process standardization for the enterprise.
  • Develop the criteria, process, reporting, improvement strategies, and communication for crisis management and business continuity preparation and execution.
  • Design and implement the supplier engagement model to drive alignment and execution for all areas of supplier performance.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the supplier performance dashboard
  • Coach, and support Category teams, in the development of robust multi-year category strategies aligned to the functional strategy. Ensure category strategies maintained with a future focus of the businesses and establish an effective mechanism to update category management plans as external or internal circumstances change.
  • Support the category leader organization implementing our category management framework.
  • Maintain category dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators, spend analysis, and savings achieved. Find opportunities for efficiency improvement.
  • Drive key initiatives across the global function, with a focus on process, communication, training, compliance, and metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement strategies in our supply base and establish enterprise-wide standard processes and systems.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead a team that will establish processes, standards, governance and deliver on core enterprise procurement programs including:
    • Supplier risk assessments, Supplier sustainability evaluations, Supplier Business Review programs.
    • Crisis management, external compliance, and business continuity governance, financial alignment, mitigation support, and business engagement.

  • Facilitate breakthrough thinking by integrating diverse views while participating in targeted  sessions to enable problem solving
  • Inspire change readiness, remove internal barriers to accelerate change, assess project risks, and develop mitigation plans
  • Establish collaborative relationships and provide functional direction
  • Engage across category leaders, group program managers, and division business partners to solicit feedback and drive continuous improvement and process evolution
  • Leads communications activities, including comprehensive communication plans, partner engagement tracking and organizational change interventions

Technical Responsibilities

  • Ensure Inclusion, Supplier Performance, Sustainability, and Risk are represented components of supplier selection, strategy, and assessment processes
  • Management of standard category and supplier management processes including Key Process Indicator target clarity and standardization across all business groups
  • Identify needs for training and improved process understanding
  • Support the regular cadence of category management review sessions to provide insights, ensure strategy quality and compliance to established processes (schedule, prepare for, run and drive follow-ups for key meetings)
  • Lead overall project plans, track key results, detect, call out and address program risks
  • Ensure consistency in category taxonomy, financial alignment, and continuity planning is aligned across the enterprise
  • Must have organizationally savvy and the ability to ask the right questions to accurately analyze situations
  • Project management capability and demonstrated experience leading executive level programs/ projects
  • Ability to translate strategies into pragmatic implementation plans
  • Implement with diligence addresses roadblocks and solve problems
  • Builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively with teams
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours (early mornings, late evenings), often from home, in support of global initiatives

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum 15 years of work experience including experience as a practitioner in the procurement industry
  • Degree in business administration, finance or supply chain management required
  • Consistent track record in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management
  • Experience in risk assessment, crisis management, and business continuity planning required
  • Consistent track record  to create a strategic vision for supplier performance management and drive its implementation required
  • Experience in new product introduction processes within procurement required
  • Experience creating and leading program management teams and procurement training and development functions
  • Experience creating supplier inclusion strategies and leading supplier inclusion teams
  • Ability to think strategically and implement long-term plans for supplier performance management
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess supplier performance, identify risks, and inform strategies
  • Experience leading procurement professionals and matrixed team member relationships is required
  • Ability to influence and partner across divisions and levels of the organization
  • Ability to confidently lead through ambiguity and change
  • Project management capability and demonstrated experience leading executive level programs and projects
  • Communications and change management abilities spanning multiple organizational layers
