About the Role:

Confluent is seeking a seasoned Senior Director of FP&A to lead financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision support across R&D and G&A. This role requires a seasoned finance professional with a strong financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning background. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual who is intellectually curious, results-driven, and a crisp communicator with solid business and financial acumen. This role reports to the SVP Finance.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead FP&A support for R&D and G&A functions, partnering with senior executives to drive financial discipline and strategic decision-making

  • Partner closely with Product and GTM teams on pricing strategy, providing financial frameworks and analytics to inform pricing decisions and monetization models

  • Analyze and optimize Cloud gross margins and infrastructure costs, partnering across both internal teams and external vendors

  • Drive operational support and modeling for key G&A initiatives, including recruiting capacity planning and real estate optimization

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering career growth and operational excellence

What You Will Bring:
  • 10+ years of FP&A experience, with at least five years directly managing people and teams in a high-growth software company

  • Experience partnering with the R&D function

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive clarity in complex environments

  • Experience operating at all levels with the ability to be hands-on while also keeping an eye on the strategic big picture

  • Experience managing and scaling finance teams
