Nuveen Global Fixed Income (“Nuveen GFI”) is world-class asset manager that manages approximately $600 billion of investment strategies across the broad spectrum of the fixed income markets. This fully integrated team of more than 200 investment professionals, including one of the largest research teams in the world, is guided by a long heritage of successful performance outcomes and risk control for our clients. Nuveen GFI is seeking a senior client portfolio manager to support the ongoing growth of our platform. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. The candidate should also have experience developing and enhancing marketing content that includes, but is not limited to, presentations, whitepapers, RFP/DDQ responses. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supports and educates Nuveen sales for CLO-related meetings
    • Participates in CLO-related prospect and client meetings with Nuveen sales
    • Leads educational meetings for prospects and internal Nuveen sales
  • Drives connectivity with investor relations, marketing, business development, and distribution teams across the broader organization 
  • Tracks and manages FAQs from clients
  • Works with CLO Investor Relations team to identify conferences, roundtables and speaking events and represent the Nuveen CLO platform at such events
  • Provides input on and content for marketing materials, white papers, RFPs and client communications for new business and existing clients
  • Stays informed on markets, opportunities, dislocations, research etc. in structured credit

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

FINRA Registrations

  • SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63

Physical Requirements

  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the asset management industry

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in the asset management industry
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university; CFA, MBA (or progress toward) a plus
  • Strong understanding of CLOs
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strong client service and sales orientation
  • Excellent written communication skills, keen attention to detail and organizational prowess
  • Experience analyzing and synthesizing attribution in written and verbal format
  • Effective ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently and simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and timelines
  • A genuine team player that believes in the power of collaborative work and builds relationships with co-workers in a collegial and respectful manner
  • The ability to think strategically and creatively and connect broad ideas with detailed execution 
  • Willingness and ability to travel

Base Pay Range: $125,600/yr. - $180,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
