The Senior Director, Accounts Receivable provides the strategic vision for all insurance follow-up and no response, and activities and is responsible for performance and effectiveness of the department. The Senior Director will be responsible for developing and implementing short and long-term plans and objectives to improve revenue and reduce denials. The Senior Director will work with Denials Management to identify and correct denials trends related to follow-up activities. They will empower staff to develop methods of process improvement, including planning, setting priorities, conducting systematic performance assessments, implementing improvements based on those assessments and maintaining achieved improvements. They will be responsible for working with insurance companies to identify reasons for delayed payment for services and additional information requests.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides strategic vision, leadership and operational oversight for follow-up activities across the Mercy Ministry. The Senior Director will be responsible for developing and implementing short and long-term plans and objectives to improve revenue and reduce denials. The Senior Director will work with Denials Management to identify and correct denial trends related to follow-up activities. They will be responsible for working with insurance companies to identify reasons for delayed payment for services and additional information requests.
- Responsible for developing high level management reports for the AVP of Accounts Receivable for all follow-up, no response, and correspondence key performance indicators. Regularly monitors data to identify gaps in the operations and works with key parties / departments to resolve the issues. In addition, monitors ongoing issues to ensure new processes are consistently followed and maintained
- Organizes functions through establishing clear accountabilities and decision rights, delegation of duties and appropriate departmentalization without creating silos. Develops and maintains an effective, visible and well-respected leadership team by selecting, evaluating, coaching and managing the performance of qualified professional.
- Participates in monthly, quarterly and annual key indicator goal setting. Prepares and presents annual business plan, including goals and review of prior year results
- Leads the review, recommendation and implementation of the modernization of all systems.
- Accountable for a comprehensive and effective communication strategy with the department that promotes a common understanding of the market, vision, strategy and accountabilities. Promotes a culture of two-way communications and creates opportunities for staff participation.
- Activities focused on associate engagement, including intentional coaching and mentoring
- Performs other duties as assigned
