Job Description: The Sr. Pricing & Deal Desk Analyst is a critical support role within the Deal Desk & Pricing team supporting the Products & Healthcare Services division of Owens & Minor. A key element of this role is collaborating with key stakeholders to deploy GPO & competitive market-based pricing across the entire portfolio to maximize value. The role assumes a lead position in the bid proposal process for our current and future O&M customers by aligning with Finance, Sales, Marketing, and other key stakeholders to complete the Deal Desk Pricing functions. He/she builds and maintains pricing tools, RFP responses, and financial authority approval matrices for product category pricing actions. Provides detailed financial analysis and review of bid process to ensure all proposals are consistent with GPO pricing guidelines, corporate goals and objectives, and compliant with company policy.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Champion pricing concepts and tools that help the sales team effectively price and structure deals while managing business metrics and requirements

  • Monitors and maintains all incoming pricing request within Salesforce / SFDC to drive request to completion

  • Reviews and interprets all product RFP’s and related information to be included in financial models and deal response

  • Serve as a lead resource and SME on all bid functions within Global Products Deal Desk and support Pricing Analyst

  • Performs sensitivity analysis on financial models based on changing pricing dynamics

  • Collaborate with internal teams to cross-functionally drive process improvements and pricing governance

  • Coordinates reviews with senior management to discuss pricing data and strategies to win/retain business

  • Complete pricing analysis for RFP and price actions including profitability, incentives levers, and GPO compliance and insure adherence to the Financial Authority guidelines

  • Conduct margin analysis for product categories to aid in decision making and reporting to internal teams

  • Secure and document final approval terms including pricing, rebates and other material terms and conditions and provide final package to key stakeholders to contractually execute the approved agreement

  • Develop tracking reports to monitor progress of recently won RFP bids to validate benchmarks

  • Design and develop reports and dashboards exhibiting sales trends and analysis that aid in decision making

  • Complete ad-hoc report requests including development of new reports and dashboards that support sales field, marketing team, pricing team, master data team, and leadership

  • Lead and participate in special projects to support key strategic pricing initiatives

  • Coordinate with compliance and rebates team to manage special pricing contracts

Qualifying Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Business, Data Science, or Finance

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in pricing, finance, strategy, and analytics

  • 5+ years of experience in a Deal Desk or strategic pricing function with demonstrated success in RFP’s, bid management, financial modeling, product pricing

  • Experience with Salesforce/SFDC, and SAP

  • Advanced-level knowledge in Microsoft Excel (modeling/analysis) that includes VLOOKUP/X-LOOKUP/Pivot Tables/Advanced Formulas

  • Strong financial modeling and experience leading the bid process and presenting to Sr. Management; comfort with addressing and influencing audiences within leadership

  • Highly analytical with the ability to use data to inform pricing decisions and measure performance. Proven ability to independently source, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.

  • Excellent communicator, skilled at building and sustaining relationships with internal stakeholders; thrives while managing multiple projects

  • Highly organized and process-oriented; strong attention to detail and takes pride in your work

  • Ability to translate and compile data into comprehensive and functional reports

  • Ability to respond quickly to request and independently prioritize decisions under pressure

  • Service-oriented – be an ambassador and collaborator to the internal teams you support in your day-to-day functions

Nice To Have:

  • MBA in Accounting, Business, Data Science, or Finance

  • Strong experience with Power BI and creating dashboards/reports from mining system data

  • Familiarity with Healthcare and GPO relationships and their impact within Hospital systems

  • Knowledge of medical and/or surgical products used within hospital settings (PPE, gloves, gowns, face mask)

  • Certified Pricing Professional (CPP), Project Management (PMP), or Lean Six Sigma certifications are a definite plus

  • Strong understanding of chargeback rebate functions, rebate incentive programs within healthcare/medical billing
