Job Description: 

The position is for a Sr Datastage Developer within the Finance Change Management & Technology Organization. The candidate will work both independently and collaboratively on initiatives and business-as-usual efforts. The following activities will be performed:

• Collaborate with the Technical Manager to plan, design and create ETL programs to address requirements from new data sources

• Provides guidance on strategies that minimize implementation risk and time and/or improve system reliability and performance

• Reviews ETL programs developed for compliance with best practices, standards, enterprise architecture and documentation requirements, ETL process, programs and scripts

• Ability to lead a team of developers based onsite and offshore and provide guidance on development based on design/mapping documents.\

• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve performance / production problems and data issues

• Provide ongoing maintenance and support of assigned ETL applications

• Support production activities post release deployment including on-call responsibilities

Required Skills: 

• Strong technical aptitude

• Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving

• Experience in Datastage 8.1 or above and multiple stages

• Experience in Datastage Unix commands

• Knowledge of data parallelism, performance tuning concepts and best design practices in Datastage

• Hands on experience in basic Unix shell scripting, unix wrapper creation and script maintenance

• Should be comfortable writing SQL on Oracle and Teradata

• Wide exposure to stages providing DB connectivity in Datastage

• Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing

• Strong time management and task prioritization skills, including multi-tasking

• Take on tasks independently and 

• Strong organization and partnering skills

• Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving

• Foster collaborative relationships within and across business units 

• Self motivated 

Desired Skills: 

Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle SQL Loader

Hadoop

Excellent documentation skills

Job Status: Permanent / Full time postion
