We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to drive the development and optimization of DATALINK 2.0, our financial benchmarking and analytics platform. This high-impact role will focus on building scalable data infrastructure, integrating complex datasets, and developing innovative data products to unlock new revenue streams through advertising and monetization strategies. As a key technical leader, the Senior Data Engineer will also contribute to thought leadership initiatives, leveraging AI and advanced analytics to shape industry insights and drive strategic decision-making at the highest levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Data Infrastructure Management
- Lead the development, administration, and optimization of DATALINK 2.0
- Ensure a scalable, efficient financial benchmarking system that integrates data normalization, engineering, visualization, analysis, and machine learning
- Collaborate with internal teams, Covetrus IT, external partners, and VMG leadership.
Business Intelligence & Visualization –
- Develop and deploy DATALINK 2.0 dashboards within Microsoft environments
- Build reports for our members which enable financial performance tracking and data-driven decision-making.
- Utilize multiple visualization platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, iMIS) and scalable cloud-based technologies (Azure) for deployment
Data Integration & Automation
- Serve as a technical resource for integrating DATALINK 2.0 with existing financial and operational platforms and our new member portal
- Automate workflows, streamline reporting processes, and improving data accessibility.
Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning
- Leverage DATALINK 2.0 to conduct deep-dive analyses of financial performance, economic trends, labor markets, and recruiting/retention dynamics.
- Apply AI, machine learning, and social science methodologies to enhance predictive benchmarking capabilities
- Manage and execute data curation, data engineering, and troubleshooting optimization challenges.
Revenue Growth Through Advertising & Data Products
- Develop and optimize new revenue streams by expanding advertising opportunities and creating innovative data products based on insights from DATALINK 2.0.
- Leverage financial benchmarking and market analysis to identify high-value monetization strategies.
Thought Leadership & Industry Influence
- Position DATALINK 2.0 as a leading resource in financial benchmarking and industry insights by driving thought leadership initiatives.
- Develop educational content, webinars, and AI training while fostering strategic partnerships with academic institutions, industry experts, and key stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or Social Science with a STEM focus
- Minimum of seven years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying data-driven products that leverage analytics, machine learning, and AI
- Proven track record in data engineering, cloud infrastructure management (preferably in Microsoft environments), and building scalable data pipelines for complex business applications
- Leading full-stack data science projects from engineering to deployment, ensuring data quality, automation, and integration with business intelligence platforms
Technical Skills:
- Cloud infrastructure management

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
However, the pay range for this position is as follows. Sales Positions are eligible for a Variable Incentive
