ABOUT THIS ROLE

Sr. Cloud Security Engineer - Developing and deploying infrastructure as a code, scripts to implement and optimize security controls and mechanisms of a cloud infrastructure. Acting as the subject matter expert for cloud security tools, and processes such as access control mechanism (AuthN/AuthZ), Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP). Subject matter expert in 1 or more major Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure or GCP) and understanding of cloud computing technologies and terminology. Monitoring Cloud infrastructure and pro-actively mitigate potential incidents before service degradation occurs. Providing guidance to our DevOps teams developing on public cloud platforms, advising on security standards for cloud deployment, and working to identify common patterns for template provisioning. Conducting assessments of security controls for new and existing cloud systems; creating and maintaining as-built system documentation, architecture diagrams, and online collaborative documentation. Determining security modes of operation and recommending new or revised security measures and countermeasures for current security challenges. Collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to evolve and implement a state-of-the-art secure cloud infrastructure. Independently architect and deliver solutions of public cloud technology problems around core cloud components. Providing mature protections & guardrails related to public cloud account configuration and networking. Document and publish new architectural standards and design patterns. Provide technical expertise, team member mentoring and advice to developers and other departments. Assume Product ownership and roadmap planning with a proven history of success in container security, image management and modern secret management practices. Assist and provide guidance for vulnerability identification, triaging and remediation. Coordinate penetration testing exercises with Cloud Platform, Architecture and DevOps teams. Develop knowledge base articles, response plans, playbooks and automations for cloud resources and cloud security tools. Conduct security threat modeling for cloud native applications using industry frameworks (STRIDE, DREAD, PASTA, etc.).

Requirements – Requirements – Bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in information technology, information science, computer science or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in cloud security engineering. Employer also accepts a Master's or foreign degree equivalent in information technology, information science, computer science or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in cloud security engineering or a PhD or foreign degree equivalent in information technology, information science, computer science or related field. Special skills - Experience with scripting languages, including integration with CSP APIs, such as Python, Perl, PowerShell, OR Bash; managing and monitoring a centralized logging architecture.; and Cloud IdAM e.g., defining least privileged policy.
