This individual will collaborate closely with other engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate enterprise business requirements into effective and efficient cloud infrastructure designs. The candidate that fits this position has experience as a Cloud Design Engineer and is responsible for Cloud systems engineering, provisioning, managing cloud services/systems. The candidate maintains, optimizes, repairs, and recovers cloud environment infrastructure components; coordinates configuration services for approved Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings; monitors cloud environment changes and coordinates Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)/SaaS updates/upgrades with application owners; decommissions obsolete cloud services. A key responsibility is to drive innovation and modernization by creating repeatable, automated, and standardized processes for cloud deployments.
The Senior Cloud Design Engineer is also accountable for ensuring the integrity and security of all cloud systems. This involves designing and enforcing robust security controls, access management (IAM) policies, encryption standards, and compliance frameworks to protect critical enterprise data. They will also take a leading role in performance optimization and cost management by constantly monitoring cloud resources, identifying opportunities for efficiency, and recommending cost-saving strategies. Furthermore, this role provides technical guidance and support for escalated cloud-related incidents and troubleshooting, participating in on-call rotations as needed to maintain high availability and business continuity. They will also play a key mentoring role for junior engineers, helping to foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence within the team. Regular duties also include creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, diagrams, and presentations to ensure transparent communication and knowledge sharing across the organization

Full-Time Salary Range: $120000 - $204000
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience as an Engineering Architect, including 5+ years of experience focused on Cloud Engineering.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- Self-Efficient with Supervisor/Manager experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certifications:
- DoDM 8140.03 (former DoD 8570.01-M) Level 3 Certification within six months of start date.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent
- ITIL 4 Foundations within six months of start date.
- Possession of at least one intermediate- to advanced-level certification recognized by industry standards in the relevant field of practice
