Sr. Clinical Informatics Analyst - Lab Specialist

Job Summary
The Clinical Informatics Analyst, Senior Lab provides specialized expertise in the design, implementation, validation, integration, and optimization of clinical information systems supporting laboratory operations. This role possesses an expert understanding of laboratory workflows and the technologies used to support laboratory services, including laboratory information systems, electronic health record functionality, instrument interfaces, order and specimen workflows, result processing, and operational reporting.

The position collaborates with laboratory, clinical, operational, technical, and information technology teams to ensure technology solutions support accurate, timely, efficient, and standardized laboratory operations. The Senior Laboratory Analyst leads complex workflow analysis, translates laboratory requirements into system and integration solutions, and serves as a subject matter expert during implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, go-live events, and stabilization activities.

• Supports safe, effective, and efficient patient care by optimizing laboratory information systems, workflows, and technology solutions.
• Partners with laboratory, clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and usability of laboratory information throughout the continuum of care.
• Evaluates laboratory workflow and technology needs to recommend solutions that enhance patient safety, quality outcomes, and user experience.
• Promotes standardized laboratory workflows that support consistent, reliable clinical decision-making.
• Serves as a laboratory informatics subject matter resource to help ensure technology supports organizational and customer needs.

• Independently manages assigned laboratory informatics initiatives, workstreams, and operational responsibilities with limited oversight.
• Leads detailed laboratory workflow analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering, and gap assessment activities.
• Designs, coordinates, and executes testing, validation, and quality assurance activities for laboratory system enhancements, implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
• Supports go-live readiness, implementation, stabilization, and optimization activities for laboratory technologies.
• Troubleshoots complex workflow, application, and integration issues and works collaboratively toward sustainable solutions.
• Maintains documentation related to requirements, workflows, testing activities, issue resolution, and optimization efforts.
• Delivers high-quality work products while meeting project timelines, organizational standards, and operational commitments.

• Collaborates with laboratory leadership, clinicians, operational stakeholders, information technology teams, vendors, and support partners to achieve shared goals.
• Serves as a liaison between laboratory operations and technology teams to ensure business needs are effectively translated into system solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or the equivalent required experience
• 5-7 years of Oracle Health Laboratory Certifications, Healthcare IT, healthcare informatics, laboratory operations, laboratory technology, or clinical experience with laboratory workflow expertise Required
• Or Bachelor's/Master's +3 years of informatics/Oracle Health Laboratory/laboratory systems experience Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong LIS, EHR, interface, testing, validation, and workflow optimization skills.
