See Yourself as a Senior Business Process Engineer
The Senior Business Process Engineer (BPE) is an IT role on a project team that is delivering a new business application or an application team supporting an existing one. The Senior BPE performs two primary functions: develops business requirements and prepares system requirement specifications. The Senior BPE also assists with UAT, project planning, and troubleshooting production problems, and contributes to the evolution of team’s best practices, tools, & techniques. In contrast to more junior BPEs, the Senior BPE is expected to plan, execute, and manage delegated work without day to day involvement of project managers or other leads, and may be assigned project-level responsibility to supervise other BPEs.
This specific position will be part of a team of that will aim to develop, enhance, and support Radian’s Enterprise Client Connectivity (ECC) systems, specifically those focused on MISMO based B2B/system to system integrations/mappings using industry standard data formats and business domain models that enable the organization to originate, service, and administer loss management of MI certificates.

SEE YOUR PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop business requirements.  Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives and assess the current state.  Identify problems and gaps in existing capabilities.  Recommend solutions and new capabilities (or changes to existing ones).  Develop business requirements for new or changes to existing application features.  Review requirements with IT project and application teams.
  • Prepare system requirements specifications.  Work with business and IT stakeholders to develop artifacts required by development teams for implementation.  Review specifications with stakeholders to assure clarity and consensus on features.  Participate in technical design as a requirements subject matter expert.  Address issues raised during development and testing and resolve any defects in the requirements specifications.
  • Support user acceptance testing.  Answer questions, report defects to QA, and track requests for enhancements.
  • Contribute to best practices.  Help evolve the team’s tools & techniques in the areas of enterprise analysis, process modeling, business requirements, and system specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Your Basic Education and Prior Work-Related Experience:

Position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent and 8 years of experience, or
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent and 6 years of experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of enterprise analysis and business process modeling methods.
  • Knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, modeling, and documentation practices for custom business application development.
  • Knowledge of requirements planning, estimation, scheduling, and execution.
  • Knowledge of custom business application development life cycles.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • 5 years experience with stakeholder analysis, enterprise analysis, process modeling, and business application requirements.
  • 8 years experience with use cases, business rules & calculations, data dictionaries, domains models, user interface prototypes, data maps, and reports specifications specifically in the area of custom business applications.
  • 4 years experience with planning, estimation, and management of the requirements process.
  • Experience with meeting facilitation, stakeholder interviews, and presentations.
  • Experience with SQL and databases.
  • Experience working with offshore development and QA resources.
  • Experience with industry standard data formats such as MISMO or electronic data interchange formats a plus.
  • Experience with XML/JSON a plus.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP based APIs a plus.
  • Experience with business domain modeling, logical (relational) database modeling a plus.
  • Experience with the mortgage lending or servicing industries is a plus.
  • Experience as a client/server business application developer is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and overall strategies around data reuse and integration.
  • Ability to drive the work forward, collaborating with the business and technical staff daily.
  • A strong sense of customer service with a strong desire to deliver.
