What is The Role

As a key member of the IT team, the Senior Business Analyst drives significant IT programs through data-driven decision-making. This role involves close partnership with business leaders and employees to leverage data for decision-making, documenting business processes and requirements, and proposing features that enhance the Elastician experience, promote automation, scale processes, and foster innovation.

We are looking for a proactive, self-starter who excels at problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication and project management skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly through verbal, written, and visual means.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Support the IT Transformation Office by contributing to the development of high-visibility initiatives and long-term strategic priorities.
  • Formulate clear, data-driven recommendations, and prepare professional written and oral presentations and documents.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of data from various sources to produce detailed business requirement documents, process mappings, and process narratives.
  • Provide domain expertise on current-state processes and challenges to identify gaps and opportunities; proactively stay informed about IT trends to deliver well-informed recommendations.
  • Plan and lead workshops focused on achieving team alignment and driving gap analysis conversations.
  • Develop and maintain meticulous documentation, including use cases, process flowcharts, and requirements, ensuring consistency and transparency across system implementations.
  • Be actively involved in and manage multiple projects concurrently within the broader program.
  • Create project test plans; coordinate, track, and report on testing activities; and validate that proposed solutions successfully meet defined business requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes across all IT functions.
  • Collaborate effectively and seamlessly across groups and levels within the organization, building strong working relationships for program delivery.
  • Maintain regular, clear communication with partners to ensure a shared understanding of project goals, requirements, and success metrics.
What You Bring
  • 3-5 years of demonstrable experience in a business analyst or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of business process analysis, requirements gathering, and system documentation.
  • Adept at identifying technical faults and capable of drawing on past experiences to drive improvements
  • BS or BA preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience with agile software delivery methodologies such as Scrum
  • Strong problem solving and analytical/critical thinking skills needed, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly evolving priorities in a fast growing company.
  • Good interpersonal and team building skills; ability to influence/inspire change across functional and business boundaries
  • Ability to work independently

  • Experience with business transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with automation or workflow tools (e.g Zapier, Keep, Tines)
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills (e.g. Tableau or Kibana)
  • Experience collaborating with multi-functional teams like IT , HR, Legal, and Finance

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

$113,300$179,200 USD
