Oversee Accounts Payable, banking, accruals, prepaids, debt, intercompany accounting and month-end close for the Americas. Review journal entries, reconciliations, payment runs and balance sheet accounts, supervise Staff Accountants, resolve accounting issues, and improve processes, controls, and reporting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Americas Finance, the Sr. Accountant oversees Accounts Payable, banking, accruals, prepaids, debt accounting, and related month-end close activities for the Americas region. This role reviews the work of Staff Accountants, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and supports scalable accounting processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee Accounts Payable, banking, accrual, prepaid, debt, and intercompany accounting activities.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure AP, banking, debt, fixed asset, and balance sheet accounts are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Review payment runs and banking transactions while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Identify accounting issues, risks, and discrepancies and drive timely resolution.
- Develop and improve accounting processes, procedures, and systems to support growth and scalability.
- Provide guidance and oversight to Staff Accountants.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience with Accounts Payable, banking, accruals, prepaids, and general ledger accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar accounting platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
