This internship puts you on the front lines of applied sports science. You won’t be watching from the sidelines — you’ll be collecting real-time force plate data, analyzing movement patterns, and helping drive the feedback loop that shapes how elite pitchers train. As a Sports Science Data Intern at Tread Athletics, you’ll gain hands-on experience with the same tech used by top performance labs — including VALD force plates, force frames, InBody scans, and athlete readiness surveys — all while learning how data directly influences decision-making at the highest level.

This internship isn’t about fetching coffee or sitting on the sidelines. It’s a chance to be in the trenches — collecting real-time force plate data, analyzing movement outputs, and helping shape the performance profiles of some of the top pitchers in the world. We’re looking for detail-oriented, tech-savvy interns who are hungry to learn, ready to contribute, and passionate about applying sports science in a high-performance environment.

If you’re driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about bridging the gap between science and sport, this is your opportunity to get in the game.

Responsibilities:
  • Data Collection: Assist in setting up and operating equipment such as force plates, motion capture systems, and other performance monitoring tools during athlete performance testing.
  • Data Management: Ensure accurate recording, labeling, and storage of collected data for subsequent analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside our performance team to help problem-solve better scheduling systems and operations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Participate in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sports science equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Reporting: Contribute to the creation of reports and presentations that communicate data insights to the performance team.
Expectations:
  • Punctuality and Reliability
  • Attention to Detail
  • Professionalism
  • Adaptability
  • Teamwork

Applicants must be legally authorized to work or participate in an internship in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future. Tread Athletics is unable to provide visa sponsorship or immigration support for internship positions.
