Sports Anchor/Reporter/MMJ
WNCN-TV/CBS 17, the Nexstar station in Raleigh, is looking for an experienced Sports Anchor/Reporter/MMJ to join our team. This is a great opportunity to join a company that still prioritizes local Sports. We cover ACC basketball and football including UNC, Duke and NC State, the NHL (Carolina Hurricanes), the NFL (Carolina Panthers), professional soccer (NCFC & Courage), and minor league baseball in one of the best places to live in America. In addition to daily sportscasts, our Sport Team produces a weekly 30-minute sports show (Sunday Night Overtime) and creates long-form streaming content for CBS17 Plus. Candidates must have a college degree and at least two years’ experience anchoring and reporting sports at a network affiliate. Candidates must excel at storytelling, shooting and editing, and reporting live from the field. Must be aggressive on digital and social media. - Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of sports and sports related activities
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift
- Experience on Adobe Premiere Editing
