Job Description
Do you have an eye for details; analyze, assess and determine key issues within the context of trade business products? Do you also have SWIFT MT760/MT767/MT799 & SWIFT payment message experience? If yes, this is the team for you.
As a Specialty Product Analyst - Standby Transactions Processor within the Trade & Working Capital Operations team at JPMorganChase, you will be responsible for issuance, amendments, examining documents and making payments against such Letters of Credit (L/C) and applicable rules as a maker. You will also be responsible for ensuring seamless workflow and expediting urgent transactions as per Service Level Agreements (SLA).
The Trade & Working Capital team provides its clients with financing, risk mitigation and processing of cross border import and export activity through multiple products and solutions. The team offers Documentary and Standby Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Collections, Supply Chain Finance, and Loan products. We have established a distributed operating model with regional hubs, global processing centers and a network of branches. Trade Finance is a credit based product which is highly complex and requires a significant amount of expertise. Whether you will be providing a small value rental guarantee or a $100mm financing transaction, your focus will be on providing a first class service to our clients.
Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operational activities for Standby/Guarantee functional team
  • Process transaction Standby letter of credit / Bank Guarantees - issuance, amendments, document examination & payments including compliance screening for the relevant documents
  • Ensure seamless workflow and expediting urgent transactions as per Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Support management in spurring efficiency into the process model by bringing in the best practice after detailed analysis of process. This includes but not limited to assessing service quality and identifying areas for process improvement, service or tech initiatives
  • Develop and exercise business plan, internal procedures and lead projects, offer innovative solutions and cost efficiency opportunities
  • Support a wide range of stakeholders (product, sales, client service, partner site and tech support)
  • Build effective relationships with management and internal stakeholders and influence them where necessary
  • Manage crisis situations through proper escalation matrix and motivate team
  • Ensure integrity of process, operations and associated results


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Strong business knowledge on Trade products, processes and system knowledge
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills to handhold irate clients or internal stakeholders
  • Must be a multitasker with ability to handhold various issues/task assigned within team
  • Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to know when a deep dive approach is appropriate
  • Ability to spur results through a hands-on approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adept to communicate with all levels of the business and technical parts of the organization
  • Ability to partner with demanding stakeholders, managing their expectations while developing strong working relationships with them
  • Knowledge of operational risks and related controls, audit and internal control framework
  • Confidence to challenge, and be challenged, whilst remaining a positive 'can-do' outlook
  • Knowledge about SWIFT MT760/MT767/MT799 & SWIFT payment message


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Certificate as a Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS)
  • Certificate for Specialists in Demand Guarantees (CSDG)
  • Certificate in International Trade and Finance (CITF)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600), International Standby Practices: ISP98 & Guide to ICC Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees URDG 758, Boycott regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control compliance with strong decision-making capability
