About the job:

Provides technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. May provide software development and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. Ensures that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications. Match here if incumbents are providing both pre and post-sales technical support; working with the customer from prior to the sale, through delivery and installation. In order to match the Pre&Post - Sales roles, incumbent will typically spend 50% of time providing pre-sale technical support and 50% of time providing post-sale technical support. If incumbent provides predominantly pre or post - sale support, match to the appropriate Pre-Sales or Post-Sales role. Report only those incumbents with incentives tied to product sales. Incumbents matched to this job family must be on a sales incentive plan that is based on individual and/or team sales results (e.g., revenue, bookings, unit sales). Company bonus and/or cash profit sharing alone are not considered sales incentive plans. Incumbents on a combination of sales incentive and company bonus and/or cash profit sharing should also be matched here. If not on a sales incentive plan, match Applications/Systems Engineering - Pre&Post-Sales - Non-Sales Plan. This is an individual contributor role. 

What you will do:

  • Executes and documents technical engagements, as defined by the customer’s Success Plan initiatives, that advance the adoption and growth in consumption of Red Hat products

  • Conducts reviews of the customer's environment and applications to ensure they are well-architected following Red Hat product best practices

  • Identifies and aggregates technical adoption blockers discovered across multiple customers and their solutions into common patterns and sales play resources

  • Be the Voice of the Customer. Share insights and best practices and connect with product leaders to remove technical barriers to adoption

  • Be curious and proactive, staying abreast of Red Hat’s ecosystem and technology changes

What you will bring:

  • Ability to lead and deliver consultative type customer-facing engagements

  • Experience with and practical knowledge of DevOps/Automation tools such as Ansible, CI Tools, Git, Python (or other similar/relevant experience)

  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information to customers both clearly and concisely

  • Demonstrable presentation and facilitation skills

  • Experience in defining and gathering goals, requirements, and determining outcomes, which can be used to plan work to be done with customers to ultimately delivery on customer outcomes

  • Willingness to travel within the region, visit customers and partners, attend conferences and other events 

  • Experience with and intimate knowledge of DevOps/Automation tools such as Ansible, CI Tools, Git, Python (or other similar/relevant experience

  • Experience in scripting and coding (especially Python)

  • Expert level hand-on experience with AAP

  • High-level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and others in the space

Significant technical experience in at least one major IT domain, such as

  • Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions

  • Linux-based workloads

  • Continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipeline

  • Network technologies like Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint

  • Kubernetes and container-based deployments

  • Public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or IBM Cloud

  • Windows-based environment management

  • InfoSec / Security Operations

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel within the region, visit customers and partners, attend conferences and other events 

  • Any Red Hat certification.

  • The ability to self-study and quickly learn and put into practice new topics

The salary range for this position is $132,400.00 - $211,880.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
