About the role

As a Solutions Consultant, you'll play a critical role in helping larger employer prospects and their brokers evaluate whether Thatch, and an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA), is the right fit for their organization. You’ll act as a consultative expert, guiding prospects through the complexities of ICHRA, assessing their unique needs, and delivering tailored pricing and contribution strategies. By balancing the priorities of price, benefits/coverage, and provider networks, you’ll help employers make informed healthcare decisions that support their business and their employees.

What you'll do
  • Partner with brokers and prospective employer clients to assess their healthcare challenges, goals, and gaps in their current insurance offerings.
  • Consult on the feasibility and advantages of transitioning to an ICHRA model, ensuring alignment with employer objectives.
  • Build customized pricing proposals.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support client discussions, evaluate pricing and plan options, and address any concerns or barriers to adoption.
  • Clearly explain complex insurance concepts to brokers and employers, ensuring they understand trade-offs between cost, coverage, and provider access.
  • Stay organized and detail-oriented, managing multiple employer evaluations while keeping both broker and client needs in mind.
  • Help drive the sales process forward by uncovering additional opportunities to add value for prospects.
Background we're looking for
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Solutions Consultant, Benefits Consultant, Underwriter, or in a similar role within the health insurance or employee benefits space.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret healthcare plans, pricing, and coverage details.
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills to guide brokers and employers through complex decisions.
  • Experience working with health insurance products, employee benefits, or HR technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and balance competing priorities.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail in creating proposals and financial analyses.
Experience we’d be particularly excited about
  • Familiarity with ICHRA and other employer-sponsored healthcare models.
  • Deep understanding of group health plan dynamics, plan selection, and contribution strategies.
  • Comfort with data analysis, Excel modeling, and pricing scenarios to inform employer decisions.
  • Experience working directly with brokers and employers in an advisory capacity.
What to expect

We interview rigorously based on integrity, talent, and drive; the trust we display in our teammates from day 1 is a reflection of the confidence we have in this process. We aim to evaluate the things you’ll be doing every day as best we can, and we move quickly. We will conduct the following interviews:

  • 30 minute Zoom meeting to talk about Thatch, your background, and answer any questions about the role.
  • 30-45 minute Zoom meeting to hear more about your experience and how you'd approach working in the role.
  • Four 30 minute zooms with additional Thatch teammates to assess your skill sets.
  • 30 minute presentation.
  • 30 minute Zoom meeting with our founders to discuss your approach to culture and our operating principles.
  • Final 30 minute call to answer any outstanding questions.
