Solutions Engineer, Associate
PayTrace by North- Remote
PayTrace by North - Payment and ACH processing, virtual terminals, and more. The B2B payments expert transforming financial and accounting processes to future-proof your business. With advanced payment automation solutions and a user-friendly API, we help B2B companies become more efficient, successful, and profitable.
As a Solutions Engineer, Associate at PayTrace, you will be the technical bridge between our Sales team and our Merchants, Partners, and ISVs. You’ll dive deep into pre-sales discovery to understand unique business needs and design technical solutions that leverage the full power of the PayTrace platform. This is a junior-level role perfect for a payments professional who loves solving puzzles, explaining "how things work" to both developers and business owners, and ensuring a seamless transition from a "handshake" to a "live integration."
What you'll do:
Technical Sales Partnership: Collaborate with the Sales team during the discovery phase to provide technical expertise and ensure our products align with prospective client needs.
Solution Architecture: Develop and propose tailored integration solutions based on specific merchant requirements, acting as the subject matter expert on PayTrace products and services.
Advisory & Best Practices: Consultant with Merchants and Partners to optimize their current payment workflows, identifying opportunities for efficiency and security improvements.
The Voice of the Customer: Act as a vital liaison to the Product department, communicating market gaps and advocating for feature enhancements based on real-world feedback.
Seamless Transitions: Work hand-in-hand with our Developer Support team during the post-sales handover to ensure integrations are successful and sustainable.
Knowledge Management: Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation covering processes, procedures, and specific integration guides.
What we need from you:
Education: High school diploma or GED. We value hands-on experience and industry knowledge over specific degree requirements for this role.
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience within a Payment setting (Gateway, Processor, or Merchant Services).
Customer-Facing: 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a technical or support-adjacent capacity.
Communication Mastery: The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable advice for non-technical stakeholders while remaining "technical enough" for developers.
Technical Troubleshooting: A sharp eye for identifying friction points in a workflow and a passion for solving complex problems in real-time.
API Proficiency: Hands on experience with APIs (specifically JSON). Experience using developer tools like Postman to test and demonstrate functionality highly preferred.
Payments Industry Fluency: A solid understanding of the payment ecosystem, including Gateways, Processors, and Merchant Services.
Travel Requirements: Up to 20% for partner visits or industry events.
Remote Readiness: Must have high-speed internet and a reliable environment to join video meetings without latency disruptions.
Salary Range: Base salary of $70,000- $80,000 plus quarterly incentive plan.
Pay within this range varies by work location and on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We look forward to discussing your salary expectations and our full total rewards offerings throughout the interview process
