This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and product management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide guidance, conduct performance reviews, and support career development.
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of software projects. Ensure the projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
- Develop and execute the technical roadmap, aligning software development efforts with the company's strategic goals. Evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance product offerings.
- Work closely with product managers, architects, subject matter experts and other stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure successful integration of software solutions.
- Establish and enforce best practices for software development, including code quality, testing, and deployment processes. Ensure that software products meet or exceeds quality and performance standards.
- Oversee resource allocation and manage project priorities to balance workloads and optimize team productivity.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation within the engineering team.
- Proactively identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects.
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of Python experience
- 2+ years of Leadership experience
- 2+ years of experience with Big Data Processing Frameworks (PySpark or similar)
- Strong knowledge in the following technologies: Java, Oracle, NetApps S3, Angular. Power BI and other technologies such as Dremio
- Thorough knowledge of Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Microsoft Azure Cloud
- Proven track record of managing software engineering teams and delivering complex software solutions.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
- Experience with modern software development tools and practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical innovation and lead teams through technical challenges.
- Ability to work onsite in one of the posted job locations
