Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Use this position if company does not breakout software development positions such as Software Engineer (Applications) or Software Engineer (Systems) and/or is involved in full stack development. Software development engineers using common development methodologies including Waterfall and Agile should be matched to our software development engineering roles.

Title: Software Engineer

Duties: The Software Engineer at Availity LLC in Jacksonville, FL will work in an agile development environment and participate in agile ceremonies. Use current programming language and technologies to write code, complete programming and perform testing and debugging of applications.  Analyze existing programs and modify application code to enhance or develop new features. Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Work closely with other developers and teams to update and deploy large and complex code bases. Investigate and answer technical questions for clients. Position is 100% remote. Salary: $101,120 year - $151,680 year.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a directly related field, plus one year of experience working as software engineer or related occupation. The one year of experience must include one year of experience with each of the following: (1) HL7 v2 Messages, C-CDA, and HL7 FHIR specifications; (2) designing, implementing, and maintaining CloverDX workflows for data processing; (3) NodeJS ecosystem; (4) RabbitMQ and Kafka to manage communication; (5) designing and implementing business processes using Durable Execution Frameworks, including Temporal; (6) Kotlin targeting the JRE; (7) Maven and Gradle build tooling; (8) microservice architectures; (9) analyzing and compartmentalizing an existing monolith into smaller pieces to enable microservice implementations; (10) troubleshooting and resolving client-reported product issues; and (11) designing and implementing product features from feature requests for healthcare software.
