About Clipboard

Our mission is to uplift as many communities as possible. We do this through our app-based marketplace that connects healthcare professionals with the workplaces that need amazing workers. This enables hundreds of thousands of people to achieve financial stability for themselves and their families while providing essential care to millions of people across the U.S.

Founded in 2016, we are a remote-first team of over 1,000 people building a top Y-Combinator company and have been profitable since 2022. We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.

The team

Growth owns Clipboard's expansion into new verticals beyond long-term care: Home Health, Dental, Hospitals, and whatever comes next. Experimentation is a big part of Clipboard and Growth takes these experiments into new verticals from zero to production quickly. They are currently focusing on Home Health and have historically expanded our product to work for Hospitals, Education, and Dental. You can find more information on the team and areas of work from this page.

What you'd be working on
  • Support and expand our newer verticals

  • Figuring out what to reuse from existing infrastructure vs. what needs to be built from scratch for a new market

  • Making architectural decisions that are based on good judgement and experimentation

You'll also work closely with operations and go-to-market partners who are working on the launch to market, you’ll be getting frequent and fast feedback and should be ready to iterate on that quickly.

What we're looking for

Engineers who do well on Growth are comfortable and thrive in ambiguity. They need to be ready to make tough decisions with incomplete information and don't need to wait until something is perfect to execute and iterate. They’re extremely product oriented and they care whether or not their vertical is actually working for their customers. Ideally they’ve worked across the full stack before and are excited to work on whatever part needs to be done to push out the best quality product.

Stack: Node/NestJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, Postgres, Redis, AWS (ECS, Terraform).

The interview process

When looking at candidates, their actual competencies matter more to us than what’s on your resumes. Because of that we make sure our assessments and interviews mirror real work that’s being done at Clipboard.

Here's what the process looks like:

  1. Take-home PR assessment (~60–90 min) + live follow-up

  2. Second take-home (technical design or second PR) + live follow-up

  3. Hiring manager interview

  4. Final culture screen with our Head of People

The process is written and async by design in order to for you to get a feel for how we work in our remote culture.

Quick Note on Scammers:

Clipboard would never ask you for money or your bank details to participate in our hiring process. Report any scammers impersonating the Clipboard hiring team members here.
