Role Description: Software Engineer – Storage

Wasabi Technologies Inc. is looking for a Storage Engineer to join our Software Development team. In this role, you'll use your knowledge of storage hardware, Linux operating systems, filesystems, and software development to help our team build reliable, secure, and scalable solutions for Wasabi's cloud storage service. Wasabi’s cloud storage platform is enterprise-grade, built with custom software optimized to run efficiently on modern hardware. 

To succeed here, you should have experience in software development, be comfortable working in an agile environment, and enjoy collaborating with other engineers. We need someone who can communicate clearly, solve problems strategically, and understands solid software design practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Help build, test, deploy, maintain, and improve storage software. 
  • Share your ideas to enhance our storage capabilities and actively contribute to implementing those improvements. 
  • Write clean, efficient code, along with tests and clear documentation. 
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and help monitor and maintain production systems. 
  • Support the team in improving both our software solutions and our agile development processes. 
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience working with storage platforms. 
  • Basic understanding of storage hardware (HDD, SSD, disk enclosures, SAS, NVMe). 
  • Exposure to file systems (e.g., ZFS, WAFL) and familiarity with Linux operating systems. 
  • Experience in backend storage service development using Go. 
  • Hands on experience with modern API standards and best practices (HTTP, REST, Swagger, gRPC). 
  • Experience with virtualization and container technologies (VMs, Docker, Kubernetes) and exposure to public cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
