Software Engineer III

SUMMARY

Senior-level software engineer providing technical leadership, full-stack application development, and DevSecOps engineering support for Navy mission-critical systems. Drive the architecture, secure deployment, and modernization of cloud-hosted applications used in fleet operational readiness, training, and logistics. Serve as a hybrid subject matter expert capable of building robust software while ensuring strict FTM Support/Fleet Management and Planning System (FLTMPS) data compliance, CI/CD automation, and DoD cybersecurity authorization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Design, develop, test, and deploy microservices, APIs, and user interfaces supporting fleet training workflows and readiness analytics.

· Lead the architectural design, development, and deployment of resilient microservices, robust APIs, and modern user interfaces supporting complex fleet training workflows and predictive readiness analytics.

· Champion code quality by establishing development standards, conducting critical code reviews, optimizing CI/CD automation pipelines, and mentoring junior-to-mid-level engineers.

· Integrate applications with FTM data sources; implement role-based access and audit logging.

· Utilize AWS, Kubernetes, production message queues, complex ETL pipelines for FTM-aligned data, ELK/Splunk observability and logging stacks, and Agile toolsets (Jira/Confluence) to support system operations, data processing, monitoring, and delivery.

· Participate in code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.

· Partner with program managers and stakeholders to author technical status reports, contribute to engineering staffing plans, and proactively identify and communicate technical risks.

· Produce technical documentation and contribute to configuration management baselines.

· Support Authority to Operate (ATO) sustainment tasks (STIGs, CVE mitigation, pipeline scans).

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. Master’s preferred.

· Eight (8) to ten (10) years of software development.

· Proficient in one or more: Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, C#.

· Experience with Raise Platform of Choice (RPOC), containers (Docker), and Git.

· Familiarity with DoD RMF, STIGs, and secure coding practices.

· Experience producing status reports, risks and issue mitigations, and risk communications.

· Active DoD Secret security clearance (generally, U.S. citizenship required).

· Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Cloud fluency (AWS or Azure), including certification such as AWS Cloud Practitioner.

· Prior experience architecting systems for the Department of the Navy, specifically dealing with FLTMPS, enterprise training management, or similar federal logistics systems.

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

Work is expected to be remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work.

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting weights up to 20 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse. Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay: $135,000-$145,000 annually
